OCB National Qualifier
The OCB Sword & Shield National Championships is being held in the Washington, D.C. area on October
24th. Three competitor names will be randomly drawn as prize winners at the show. One will win a trip to
the 2016 Arnold Fitness Expo. The other two will each win $500 worth of supplements of their choice.
The overall winners of the event will receive championship rings, and will have entry fees, membership, and
drug testing fees paid for their first IFPA pro show. Swords are also awarded to the National Champions,
and their names get engraved onto the OCB shield that serves as the symbol of the Sword & Shield national
title. Each year the names of the overall winners are added to the shield so that the award carries the history
of champions.
To qualify for the OCB Sword & Shield National Championships competitors must place in the top 5 in a
class within the Open division at any OCB contest.

Show Time: 11:00am (event will run straight through with a 30 minute intermission after group comparisons and before
individual presentations/awards)
OCB Membership: All competitors are required to be current members of OCB to participate in this event. If needing
to obtain the annual membership please be sure to register before 9/21. Membership information can be found on
OCBonline.com.
Drug Tested Event: This is a natural (drug-free) competition. All competitors must meet eligibility criteria listed in the
OCB Drug Testing Guidelines in order to participate. Prior to registering competitors should review these procedures and
the list of banned substances, which are posted on OCBonline.com.
Drug Testing: All competitors are required to be polygraph tested prior to competing. Photo identification must be
shown prior to polygraph tests. Any competitor not polygraph tested will be subject to disqualification.
Division Offerings: Men’s Bodybuilding: Novice, Age 40+, Open – Figure: Novice, Age 40+, Open – Bikini: Novice, Age
40+, Open – Men’s Physique: Novice, Open - Women’s Physique: Open - Promoter reserves the right to add or drop classes
based on number of entries.
Classes: When more than one class in a division, classes are formed by dividing competitors evenly by height. (Class
breakdowns and the order of events will be supplied to competitors approximately a week before the event).
Crossovers: A "crossover" is entering more than one division. For example, someone may enter the Figure Novice
division, if eligible, and also elect to crossover into the Figure Open division and compete in it as well. Crossovers
between the Figure, Bikini and Women’s Physique categories are not permitted. Crossovers between Men’s Physique and
Bodybuilding are not permitted.
Awards: Sculptured awards for top 5 placements in each class and best poser/presentation awards.
Fees: If entry is received by 9/5: Entry $65, Crossover Entry $45 for each additional class. After 9/5 to 9/21: Entry $95,
Crossover Entry $75 for each additional class. Polygraph Screening $45.
Entry Deadline: Monday 9/21. Entries will not be accepted after this.
Check-In/Polygraph Test: By appointment Friday 9/25 9am-6pm at the host hotel listed below. To schedule an

calendar for it to show times available and that there is a scroll bar on the right to pan down the list to see all appointment
times available.
Contestant meeting: None. Complete details will be provided in advance.
Backstage policy: One assistant max per competitor allowed, assistant must buy a trainer/assistant ticket, which is good
for general admission and back stage access.
Pump-Up Area: Light weights, bands and mirrors will be back stage for use in pumping up before going on stage.
Competitors are welcome to bring their own equipment and mirrors as well.

Music: All competitors are to supply own 60 seconds of music for individual presentations via a digital file (ex. mp3, m4a,
etc.) to be emailed to [email protected]. Music must not contain any profanity.
Tickets: Adult General Admission $35, Under Age 16 General Admission $10. Assistant Admission: $50 (only applicable
to those helping a competitor prepare back stage. One assistant max per competitor is permitted. Assistant tickets are
good for general admission seating and back stage access).
