Challenge Areas Programme Zones Outdoor and Adventure Challenge Areas - Previously, the programme for all young people aged 6-18 was split into 6 World ‘Programme Zones’, the balanced combination Skills of which was known as the ‘Balanced Outdoor and Adventure Community Fitness Creative Global Programme’. The programme zones for each Beliefs and Attitudes Section are shown, in comparison to their new Outdoor and Adventure counterpart, the ‘Challenge Areas’. World In addition to the change from programme zones to challenge areas, from January 2015 Skills Outdoor and Adventure Community Fitness Creative Global there is also a change in emphasis. This Beliefs and Attitudes relates to the outdoors and adventure Outdoor and Adventure challenge areas – where it is recommended Community that the Scouting programme, in all sections, World Fit for Life should spend 50% of the time working on Skills Creative ‘outdoors’ and ‘adventure’ areas. This does not Outdoor and Adventure Expression mean that young people need to be outdoors Global 50% of the time, although the more time you Beliefs and Attitudes spend outside the better. Learning key skills Outdoor and Adventure that would be put into use in the outdoors are still considered to be a part of the section of the balanced programme. Staged badges do not have to be completed in order; it is Hikes Away possible for young people to begin the stages at whichever level Musician best suits them. The stages are progressively difficult to offer young Nautical Skills people an ongoing challenge.
