the Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital Foundation
Hospice Prince Edward & the County Community Foundation
Jack and Ruby Lockyer Ward were life-long County residents, well
known for their involvement in many community activities and
support of a wide range of charitable organizations.
Ruby, a florist and owner of the Lockyer Flower Shoppe, passed
away in 2006. Jack passed away in 2011, after practicing law in
Picton for over 45 years.
For many years, Ruby was the chairperson of the Salvation Army
Red Shield Campaign and a primary fundraiser for the restoration
of Glenwood Cemetery.
Jack was a charter member of the Picton Kiwanis Club and long
time board member of the Picton United Church.
Jack and Ruby were passionate patrons of the arts, with a keen
interest in theatre, music, painting and sculpture. They were among
the original supporting members of both the Shaw and Stratford
Festivals.
Jack’s eclectic interest in art culminated in a large collection of
works by a broad spectrum of Canadian artists, many of whom are
local to Prince Edward County and Eastern Ontario.
His interest in the success of emerging talent was evident in his
on-going support of many new artists and the lasting
friendships he developed with them.

Auction Rules & Procedures
1. Reserve absentee bids must be registered with the Oeno Gallery
prior to June 11 at 6:00pm.
2. Work is sold in AS IS condition.
3. Payment must be made by cheque, Visa or Mastercard the night
of the sale.
4. All work must be removed from the premises at the time of the
sale or between 10 and 12 am the next day.
5. All sales are final.
6. Net proceeds of the sale will be given to the County Community
Foundation, to be distributed according to the wishes of the
Ward family - for the benefit of the PEC Memorial Hospital
Foundation, Hospice Prince Edward and other community
groups as determined by the Community Foundation.
