When whistle is blown, the first Pathfinder puts on the safety glasses, takes the hammer, runs to the log 20 feet away, drives 2 nails (nails supplied at the log) into the log completely, then runs back past the line and hands the glasses and hammer to the next Pathfinder. This process is repeated until the 5th Pathfinder crosses the finish line. Bent nails will not count—participants will be handed new nails to replace those bent Notes: Each Pathfinder must wear safety glasses during the running and hammering part of this event or the team will be disqualified. Remember: wear safety glasses while practicing, thanks Scoring: 20 total points possible for time to complete 50 points for fastest time or within 1” of the fastest time 40 points for times 1”1s – 2” over the fastest time 30 points for time 2”1s – 3” over the fastest time 20 points for time over 3” of the fastest time Ohio Conference Fair 2015 Page 24 Christ – Our Awesome Redeemer Ohio Conference Pathfinder Fair Camp Mohaven, May 1-3, 2015 Fire Brigade Relay Race Group Club Event 10/27/14 Description: This activity will move water from a water trough to a bucket ready to fight a fire! Equipment: All equipment furnished by the conference. Water supply bucket filled with water Cups Water dump bucket with holes Stop watches Start/Finish Tables Participant: Team of five (5) Pathfinders Procedure: A team of five (5) Pathfinders will line up at the start/finish line with cups in hand. At the start signal, all 5 Pathfinders will fill their cups from the water supply bucket and run 20 feet to the water dump bucket with holes. In an order or all together, they may dump, throw, pour, or dribble their water in to the pail. Any or all of them need to continue back to the water supply bucket to refill their cups and bring more water to the water dump bucket. The game is completed by overflowing the water dump bucket. The strategy is to determine when one or more Pathfinders need to stop carrying water and start plugging holes in the dump bucket. Holes may be plugged with fingers and hands. Holes may not be plugged with corks, gum, grass, dirt, shirts, elbows or toes (even though this would amuse me greatly). During the whole game, each Pathfinder may only carry 1 cup at a time. Notes: One point of interest, the dump bucket will have twelve holes in it.
