1st, 2nd, and 3rd place ribbons are awarded every month for two age divisions: Young Adult (up to
17) and Adult (18 and older). Cub (under 12) and Youth (12-14) may compete in the Young Adult
division. No gender classification - males & females compete head-to-head. Awards to non-sight
shooters only – sight shooters can compete for bragging rights; 5 spot targets available.
Contest is shot from the 10 Yard Shooting Line.
Two ends of practice will be allowed.
You’ll shoot 12, 5-arrow ends (5-4-3-2-1 scoring) on a standard 40CM Single Spot Indoor Field
Target for a total potential score of 300 points. X’s count as tie breakers.
Target position will change after the first 6 ends (from high to low or low to high).
The time limit will be 4 minutes per end.
Witnessed bounce outs will be reshot; hits on the wrong target will be scored as misses;
dropped arrows within 10 feet of the shooting line may be replaced.
Experienced Archers may compete in a separate “A Class” for monthly and year-end high score
bragging rights; anyone who wins the Novice League twice will join this class, otherwise the
League Director will determine who belongs in this classification.
The Perpetual Novice League provides a fun year-round contest for novice archers to participate in
friendly competition and develop tournament goal setting and practice habits. 10 yards is a “level
playing field” distance!
