Invitation: 2015 Australian Offshore Petroleum Exploration Investment Opportunities
The Australian Government’s annual Offshore Petroleum Exploration Acreage Release offers the
global petroleum industry with a variety of investment opportunities.
Hosted by JOGMEC, the Australian Government will present the 2015 offshore petroleum
exploration investment opportunities to industry at the JOGMEC Office on Wednesday 17 June
2015.
The 2015 Acreage Release offers 29 areas across eight offshore basins in Commonwealth waters
(map of areas attached). Twenty-three (23) areas are available for work program bidding and six
(6) areas are available for cash bidding. Release areas vary in size, level of geological knowledge
and are located in a range of water depths. All of the Release Areas are supported by precompetitive geological and geophysical data and analysis undertaken by Geoscience Australia
available to stakeholders at the cost of transfer.
