SACRAMENTS
BAPTISM: First time parents/godparents must attend a seminar to set date of baptism for their child. Baptisms
take place on the 1st and 3rd Sundays of the month immediately following the 10:30 am Mass. The Baptismal
seminar is typically on the second and fourth Thursday of every month at 7:00 pm in the rectory. Registration is
required for seminar. Call the rectory.
SACRAMENT OF PENANCE: Confessions are held one-half hour before the 4:00 Vigil Mass, the 8:30 am, the
10:30 am., the 2:00 p.m. (Spanish) and 7:00 pm Mass or by appointment.
SACRAMENT OF MARRIAGE: You must contact the church at least six months before the date of the wedding.
ANOINTING OF THE SICK: Contact the rectory.
FUNERALS: Contact the funeral home first and they will contact the Rectory.
CONFIRMATION: Conferred in the 11th grade.
NEW PARISHIONERS: We welcome you with great joy and invite you to register and worship with us regularly.

Our Lady of Prompt Succor parish in Chalmette is
hiring a person to work as a part-time or full-time
Coordinator or Director of Religious Education.
The title, hours, and salary are negotiable depending on qualifications, experience, and availability. The person will assist in directing and coordinating religious education programs for children, youth and adults. Training will be available.
Applicants should be an active, practicing Catholic
that has a CRE certificate from a Diocesan religious education program or an associate, bachelor or master’s degree in theology or pastoral ministry. They should also have some amount of experience in religious education or pastoral ministry. Those interested should send their resume to

The Community of Jesus Crucified is hosting a
silent retreat for Married Couples. The retreat
aims at a more profound living of the marriage
sacrament. Fr. Michael Champagne is the retreat director with married couples also giving
talks. The retreat will be held at Our Lady of
Sorrows Retreat Center (103 Railroad Ave., St.
Martinville) beginning at 7:00 PM on Friday,
June 5, 2015, and ending with a Corpus Christi
procession at 3:00 PM on Sunday, June 7, 2015.
There is no cost for the retreat but couples
must register in advance by calling Cheryl Moss

The Bishops of Louisiana have designated Friday, June 5, 2015, as a day of prayer and fasting for protection during the hurricane season.
