What do I want?
Comfort. You want the perfect fit. To ensure a perfect fit, harnesses are
available in different sizes. A standard size will fit most workers. Ease
of Use. You want a harness that is easy for you to get into and adjust. A
vest-style harness is put on like a jacket. The choice of style is a matter
of personal preference. There are different types of leg strap connections
available on a harness:
• Qwik-Fit (mating buckle)
• Tongue-Buckle
Both styles offer a fast and easy connection and adjustment. The choice
of leg strap connections is a matter of personal preference. You also have a
choice of D-Ring configurations on a harness: Back D-Rings (required on
every harness) and hip (side) D-Rings. General D-Ring usage is as follows:
• Back D-Ring. This is the attachment point for your lanyard. It can also
be used as a rescue attachment.
• Hip (side) D-Rings. Typically used for workpositioning activities to
allow the worker to have their hands free to perform work, or for travel
restriction applications.
• How do I know which to choose?
• There are two primary types of lanyards:
• Shock-absorbing lanyards are used when the free fall distance (fall
hazard) can exceed 2 feet.
• Restraint or positioning lanyards are used only when free fall distance
(fall hazard) can be limited to 2 feet or less.
In choosing the correct lanyard, you must keep the application in mind.
• Make certain the lanyard is the proper length to allow the necessary
worker movement/positioning.
• Make certain that the right material type is chosen (depending on your
work environment).
• Make certain you have calculated your total fall distance.
• You also need to consider the compatibility of the system components.
The best way to ensure compatibility is to purchase all components
from the same manufacturer.
Connector
How do I know which to choose?
Connector selection is driven primarily by application. You will need to
carefully consider your work environment , in particular the type of structure where the connector will be attached.
Weight should also be a consideration if a worker will need to carry the
connector around during the work day.
In addition, you will need to consider the number of workers required
to attach to the connector. Most connectors are rated for 1 person with a
5,000 pound minimum breaking strength.

lbs.* Custom harnesses
are available up to a 400-lb
weight capacity at no additional charge (custom harnesses with weight capacities of 361 - 400 lbs are priced at the SXL harness size).
*360 lb weight capacity applies to size SXL harnesses and excludes all Gravity Harnesses and Derrick Harnesses. Gravity and Derrick harnesses must be custom
ordered for weight capacities above 310 lbs. When ordering a harness for a worker exceeding 310 lbs, a custom shock-absorbing lanyard, designed for the weight of the
individual, must also be ordered.

are used to restrain a worker from reaching a fall hazard.
Lanyards for work positioning are used for stabilizing a
worker at an elevation. They can be ordered in fixed or
adjustable lengths. Each lanyard comes with a forged
steel, zinc-plated, self-locking snaphook attached to each
end. Our featured lanyard is made with 1/2” nylon rope,

Rope Adjuster
This rope adjuster with an attached 3 foot shock absorbing lanyard is designed to be a static rope grab that is the
connecting lanyard between the full body harness and the
lifeline. By compressing the rope adjuster forward, the
worker can slide along the lifeline until reaching their work
position. Release the rope adjuster and it locks onto the lifeline providing fall protection to the worker attached. This
may be ordered separately from the roof anchor kits. Overall
length is 42 inches and weighs 1.4 lbs. Minimum Breaking
