Dear Members of the Class of 2019,
On behalf of the Georgetown Admissions Ambassador Program (GAAP), congratulations
on your acceptance to Georgetown University! You should be extremely proud of yourself
and your impressive accomplishments.
Our job here at GAAP is to guide you as you learn more about this tremendous university.
Our more than 800 volunteer student members are so excited to get to know you and share
their experiences on the Hilltop with you.
As we remember well, making a final decision about where you’ll spend the next four
years of your life can be very difficult. We hope to make your decision a little easier by
providing you with an opportunity to experience life as a Georgetown student. You and
your family are invited to our GAAP Early Action Open House Weekend, which will be
held Friday, March 27 - Saturday, March 28, 2015.
Over the course of the weekend, you will have the opportunity to tour our campus and
the surrounding neighborhood, attend lectures by members of our outstanding faculty,
speak with current Georgetown students, and tour the four freshmen residence halls.
This weekend provides an all-encompassing insight into life as a Hoya and will help
you decide if Georgetown is the right place for you.
We can’t wait to show you why we fell in love with Georgetown and the many
opportunities that await you here in our nation’s capital. To join us for our Open House
Weekend, please turn to the next page for RSVP instructions. Be sure to register as
soon as possible, as space is limited and spots fill up quickly!
In the meantime, if you have any questions or concerns about GAAP Weekend, or
would like to get in touch with a GAAP Ambassador, please feel free to contact us
at [email protected], or give us a call at (202) 687-9481.
Congratulations again and we look forward to seeing you on the Hilltop!

Frequently Asked Questions
What if I can only attend one day of the Open House?
The GAAP Open House is designed specifically as a two-day program, so that admitted students can leave with a full and complete
understanding of the Georgetown experience. That being said, we’d love to have you on campus for whatever time your schedule allows!
We do our best to accommodate attendees only able to attend one of the two days and are happy to work with you to create the best
possible Open House experience. Please email us at [email protected] as far in advance as possible, letting us know which day
you’ll be able to attend.
What if I can’t make it on March 27-28, but would still like to attend a GAAP Weekend?
We highly encourage all Early Action admitted students to attend our Early Action GAAP Weekend. However, we do host two
additional GAAP Weekends in April for students admitted through Regular Decision. If you are absolutely unable to visit in March,
please email us at [email protected] and ask to be placed on our April GAAP Weekend waiting list. Though priority
registration is reserved for Regular Decision admitted students, we will make every effort to accommodate you and your family.
We are driving to campus. Are directions available and where should we park?
If you’re traveling to campus by taxi, direct your driver to drop you off at Georgetown’s front gates, located at 37th & O Streets NW.
For families who are driving and will require parking, head to the Southwest Parking Garage, located at 3613 Canal Road NW,
Washington, D.C. 20007. On Friday, parking is available at the discounted rate of $10 for the whole day. Be sure to notify the
parking attendant that you are attending an Admissions Open House. Parking on Saturday and Sunday is free of charge.
For full driving directions, please visit http://www.georgetown.edu/directions-to-georgetown.
Is the GAAP Open House open to my entire family? Should my parents and/or younger siblings attend?
We absolutely welcome all parents, family members and guests — we know that the college decision process is very much a family affair
and we’re excited to share what we love about Georgetown with you and your family. Most admitted students attend with their parents,
but plenty of students bring additional family members or travel by themselves as well. We simply ask that you use reasonable
judgment when deciding to bring younger children, as two days of college-geared activities might seem a bit tiresome to “little ones.”
Please remember that admitted students, as well as their guests, must RSVP for the GAAP Weekend in advance.
As space is limited, we encourage you to do so as soon as possible.
Am I required to attend every event on the Open House agenda?
The schedule for the Open House includes a full weekend of activities designed to give you a comprehensive view of life at Georgetown.
However, this is your college decision process. If there is an event that you would like to skip in order to visit a particular class, attend
a Georgetown athletic game or performance, or otherwise explore the campus on your own, you are welcome to do so.
What is the dress code for the Open House?
Casual! We want you to be comfortable as you explore Georgetown. Keep in mind that spring weather in DC is often unpredictable,
so be sure to check the weather forecast before you head to campus.
Will I be able to stay on campus overnight with a current student?
Due to the high volume of students expected at each Open House, we unfortunately are unable to provide overnight on-campus
housing or reimbursement for travel expenses. We believe that all GAAP Weekend attendees will receive the full Georgetown experience.
Meeting faculty, visiting residence halls, eating on campus, and meeting with current students will leave you with a clear understanding of
the daily life of a Georgetown University student.
What types of services and accommodations are available for hearing-impaired or disabled
students and guests during the Open House?
Please inform us if there are any special accommodations that you will be in need of during your visit, such as translators, interpreters, or
wheelchair access information. Requests must be made at least 10 business days prior to your visit to allow for necessary arrangements
to be made.
Where do we go when we arrive Friday morning?
When you arrive, please head to Healy Hall — located at the front of campus — to check in and receive your complete weekend agenda.
GAAP Ambassadors will be stationed around campus in their light blue t-shirts to direct you.
What if I have any additional questions or concerns?
Please feel free to reach out to the GAAP Board with any additional questions or concerns you may have. The best way to contact us
is by emailing [email protected]. You may also call our office at (202) 687-9481.
Can’t make it to GAAP Weekend? No problem!
