He hasa special interest in foot and ankle surgery, having trained in Cambridge, France and the United States. He has a broad interest in footsurgery but particular interests include forefootreconstruction and tendon pathology. Fred runs the foot and ankle service at Addenbrooke's Hospital. Addenbrooke’s is the central teaching hospital for Cambridge University and is also the centre of the East Anglian Orthopaedic Training Programme. The orthopaedic department has eleven Consultants, all sub-specialising in particular areas of orthopaedic practice.
