We have been making integrated amplifiers for
15 years and the best we have come up with so
far is the Int 2.5.1. Essentially it is a traditional
stereo amplifier providing 2x100W/8ohm built
with a strong and fast power supply and
featuring classic Holfi design: Non feedback and
single ended. The revolution with the 2.5.1 is
that, though born as a stereo amplifier, it has the
ability to take on being the center of a surround
sound set up as well.
ANALOGUE SUROUND
The Int 2.5.1 offers a bridge between classic stereo
and the new world of surround sound. Built in the Int
2.5.1 are a preamplifier section that can handle four
more channels: Rear left & right, sub and center. If
you wish to enter the world of SA-CD/DVD-Audio
playback in multi channel or wish to have the Int
2.5.1 be the center of a Home Cinema set up then
all of that is available, without compromising the
sound quality of your stereo.
We call this solution Analogue Surround and it is
available with a wide range of DVD/multiformat or
even Bluray players. The access comes through a
5.1 analogue output from your player and the built-in
pre amp section of the Int 2.5.1. You will have to
apply the extra speakers and a 3-channel Power
amp ( i.eg. Holfi Power 3S or Holfi Power 8-3). Then
you are ready for it all with no compromise.

SUBWOOFER ACTIVITY WITH ALL SIGNAL
INPUTS
To obtain the full benefit of having a subwoofer
supporting the front speakers, the Holfi Int 2.5.1 also
generates a subwoofer output signal when other
input sources are selected. This means that the
subwoofer(s) are always active, with sound quality
improvements such as a bigger soundstage and a
more relaxed and effortless reproduction.
No matter the size and frequency response of your
speakers, your setup always implies compromises.
For example the spot with the best soundstage is
also the spot with the poorest low-bass reproduction
and power. Rather than compromising you should
support your main speakers with a good subwoofer.
A well-tuned subwoofer setup not only improves
bass response, but more importantly, it allows for an
even bigger soundstage and a more full-bodied
sound.
SHORT SIGNAL PATH
We have left no stone unturned in the effort to
shorten the signal path as much as possible. This
you will even see on the rear panel of the amp,
where the input RCA´s are placed in accordance
with this and not grouped like you are used to.
SOUND
The Int 2.5.1 has the capacity to make high quality
speakers perform at their very best. Lots of space,
details, extension and finesse combined with plenty
of power for a dramatic reproduction of music in two
or more channels - and soundtracks included.
