About the event
On Friday, August 21, 2015 golfers will gather at the Hammond Golf and Country Club for what has
come to be a great annual tradition. Formerly known as the JT Bradley’s Navan Curling Club Golf
Classic, this event has been renamed the OutCare Golf Classic. Members of the business
community, curling and golfing communities and friends gather for a day of fun and friendly
competition.
Golfers should arrive prior to the shotgun start at noon. The format is scramble (best ball) with many
prizes including closest to the pin, longest drive, and hole-in-one, to name but a few. Participants
gather for the BBQ banquet following golf. This tournament has an excellent reputation for running
efficiently and on-time. It’s an event not to be missed!

About the cause
All funds raised will go to support the OutCare Foundation which raises funds for palliative care
across Eastern Ontario.
Today, 7 out of 10 of those who need professional, compassionate
palliative care cannot access it.
The OutCare Foundation is an independent registered charity (88074 5286 RR0001) that raises
funds for palliative care throughout Eastern Ontario. We select high-priority projects with a direct
impact on the people of our region so that, regardless of which organization families turn to, they
receive the skilled and compassionate help they need and deserve. Thanks to the support of donors
like you we have offered 76 bursaries for palliative care volunteers using $9,500 in donations;
provided $68,000 worth of equipment to six hospices; and, equipped 12 sites for telemedicine using

Why you should get involved!
With seniors making up the fastest growing age group in our society, the need for palliative
care is increasing significantly. When families are in need of care for a loved one, they are
often shocked to discover the shortage of services.
• By 2041, about one in four Canadians is expected to be 65 or over.
• Better quality of life at end-of-life affects us all.
• 90% of people do not die suddenly – most will be faced with the need for palliative care as
they approach end-of-life.
• Currently, 7 out of 10 of those who need palliative care cannot access it.
