OCS Registration
OCS completed the registration process on March 27th. We
trust that you enrolled your children for the 2015-2016
school year and we appreciate your help. Accurate enrollment numbers are necessary for a successful school year. If
you were not able to complete the Online Registration,
please call the central office (270-686-8896) as soon as possible. The Parish Voucher and $50.00 registration fee may
be turned in at any of the school sites or central office.
IOWA testing of basic skills
Students will be taking the IOWA battery of tests starting
April 20—May 1. Testing tips will be sent home in a cou!! rest

and eat a good breakfast each day before coming to school.
These series of tests assess basic knowledge in all the
major content areas except Religion..
OCS Holy Week Food Drive
During Holy Week we will be assisting
the Owensboro Catholic High NHS students with a food drive. Proceeds will
benefit the Help Office and Sts. Joseph and Paul food pantry. Please see attached flyer for donation suggestions.
Holy Week Services
During Holy Week the students will
be participating in the following services:
Holy Thursday Service—8:00 AM
Good Friday Service—8:00 AM
and 12:00 PM
All service will be in the Church and
all are welcome.

Lenten Service Project
During Lent our school is conducting a “Zap the
Penny” drive to aid Gasper River. We only have a
week left. Save those pennies.
Grandparents’ Mass
The 4-6 Campus will honor
Grandparents on May 7th. We
ask you to put this date on your
calendar and invite grandparents
to the visit our school. After
Spring Break an invitation for the
students to give their grandparents will be sent home. Please
let us know if you need additional copies. Look for more information to come home soon.

The faculty and staff wish you and your family a Blessed Easter and safe
Spring Beak. May the Risen Lord protect you and bring you safely back to
school on April 13th.

4A: Caleb Ward—”I cleaned out the dish washer. I helped my Great Grandmother at the nursing home. I let a student use my rosary. I fixed my brother’s bike.”
4B: Connor Reidell—”I talked to someone who was sad. I gave a kindergartener a griper.
Was honest.”
4C: Elliot Clements— “Playing with a different person. Talking to people
who I don’t usually talk to.”
4D: Rachel Traylor— “I helped a student with math. I helped a student pick up her binder
stuff. I was nice.”
5A: Carter Osborne—”I volunteered to help another student with math. I give
praises to others, selflessly.”
5B: E Munsey—“I used manners in lunch. I gave away a ball in prison ball. I helped someone
when they dropped their things.”
5C: Jansen Tipmore—”I did the dishes and donated clothes. I let my friend borrow my gloves.
I emptied the trash. I helped a friend study for a test.”
5D: Brett Conder— “I got my mama a glass of water when she was coufing. I held the door for
someone. I said an extra prayer when I was at Mass. I went to Mass and served. When I served
it helped the priest.”
6A: Ally Maggard—”I filled my teacher’s bucket by being a good student. I helped Mr. Hein
by singing in church today. I got a kleenex for two people when they needed one.”
6B: Russell Tichenor—”I helped a student pick up his things when he dropped them. I let another student use my Science book when he forgot to bring his book to class.” I shared a song
book for church with a student even though he acted like he didn’t need it.”
6C: Caroline Weafer—”I assisted a friend when she dropped her books in the hall. I helped
Mr. Johnston clean her room. “
6D: Vivian Terry—”I helped a student with homework. I helped my mom clean the house. I
helped clean the classroom. I helped out a friend.”
Look What’s Happening at the 4-6 Campus
The 6th graders are participating in the “No R Word” campaign with the Wendell Foster Campus this year! We are
making posters and writing essays advocating the elimination of the "R" word and persuading others to use more
inclusive, sensitive language when referring to those with
differing abilities.
Representatives from the Wendell Foster campus came to
speak with the 6th graders about empowering young people to use respectful and inclusive language, and we are so
happy to learn about and participate in this campaign!
Thank you to Carolyn Ferber and Shelley Bozarth for
coming to present to our sixth graders!
Congratulations to our Academic Team
Our 4th & 5th Grade Academic Team placed 2nd
overall, out of 17 teams, in the Regional Governor’s Cup Competition on March 21st. Our
