President’s Message Hi Folks! Hope that everyone survived the cold winter that we had again this year. Well spring is here and the show season is fast approaching. We will be having our shows at Echo Valley South this year which is our new show grounds for Oxford Trail Riders. To start the season the youth will be having a very exciting and informative clinic there on May 2nd. To top it off there will be a tack swap/sale taking place the morning of the clinic. Thanks to Jill for organizing this clinic. Our show dates are all set, the judges are booked and we hope to have another year of great fun and friendship at our shows and events. Thank You to Gerry and Heather for the show grounds. Thanks to all the directors for the hard work that they have already done. Let’s all work together to make our 60th a great year for our club. Hope to see everyone, new and former members at all our events this year. Happy Trails Kathy Welcome to the 60th Anniversary year of the Oxford Trail Riders. It is really quite a monumental achievement for any organization to achieve this milestone! What makes it especially wonderful is that the organization is run by volunteers. 2015 will be a new adventure for us as we are moving the shows to new grounds. All shows will be held at Echo Valley South. The address is 163292 Brownsville Road. This is just west of the village of Brownsville. All shows will start at 10 AM. Show Dates Saturday May 23, 2015 Saturday June 13,2015 Saturday June 27, 2015 (Canada Day Show) Saturday July 18, 2015 Saturday August 22, 2015 Saturday September 19, 2015 Clinic-May 2, 2015 The youth will be holding an educational clinic on May 2, 2015 starting at 12 noon and wrapping up at 4 PM. The clinic will be held at Echo Valley South, 163292 Brownsville Rd. Topics will include Equine Nutrition, Showmanship and Ring Etiquette, Horse Health, Stable Care, Farrier Info and Hoof Care, and an All about Horses Fun Corner. The price is $30 per child and preregistration is required. You do not need to have a horse to participate. Please contact Jill DeClark at 519-673-7133 to register. Spaghetti Supper The youth will be hosting a spaghetti supper this year on July23rd. It will be held at the Brownsville Community Centre with 2 sittings available at 5:30 and 6:30 pm. Prices are $10 for adults and $5 for kids. Children 2 and under are free. Mark this date on your calender and come out for a delicious dinner and help to support the youth! Tack Swap/Sale The club will be hosting a tack swap and sale on May 2nd at Echo Valley South from 10 AM till 4PM. Tables are $10 each. Please contact any member of the executive to reserve a table. This sale will be a great opportunity to view our new facility before the first show! The Youth Clinic is in the afternoon of this day so bring the kids and make a day of it. Lunch will be available! Sponsorship Our club depends on both business and individual sponsorships to finance the shows, expenses, awards and activities each year. I am enclosing a sponsorship form with this newsletter in the hope that you will consider sponsoring a class. If you feel that your employer or a business that you frequent might consider sponsoring we would really appreciate your approaching them. All sponsors are recognized at each show, in the newsletter and on our website. A class sponsorship is $60 and a year end high point is $120.
