The BPAP Tournament Director has the right to accept or reject any entry. 2. All participants in AAFT Qualifying Events MUST have a current USBC membership PRIOR to participating in the qualifying event. If an advancer does not have a current USBC membership the team cannot advance and the team will be replaced with the next eligible advancer. 3. The event will be a team competition using a one-adult/one-youth team format. Each team must consist of two players. Each team must consist of one adult (Age 24 or older with a 2014-15 USBC Adult membership) and one 2014-15 USBC Youth member whose birthdate must be 7-31-1997 or later. There must be an immediate family relationship between the entering partners. Acceptable relationships are; parents, step-parents, grandparents, step-grandparents, brothers, sisters, step-brothers, step-sisters, or court appointed legal guardian. As used herein, step-parents shall include domestic partners (in recognized domestic partnerships) of the child’s parent. 4. The tournament will utilize the following divisions (All adults must have birthdate of 7/31/90 or earlier): A) One adult/One U8 Youth (Youth Birthdate 8/1/06—Present) B) One adult/One U12 Youth (Youth Birthdate 8/1/02—7/31/06) C) One adult/One U15 Youth (Youth Birthdate 8/1/99—7/31/02) D) One adult/One U17 Youth (Youth Birthdate 8/1/97—7/31/99) The highest placing team in each division will advance to the national finals in Chicago. If the winning team cannot attend the national finals, the second place team in the division will advance to the national finals. 5. Substitutes are not permitted at any level of the tournament. If for any reason an entrant is not able to advance to any level of competition with his/her team, entry will be forfeited and the team in the next place will be eligible (i.e. If the first place team cannot advance, the second place team would then be eligible). 6. Participation in the National Championships is limited to one-time per person; therefore, an individual may qualify only one time to advance to the National Championships. Should an individual qualify to advance to the National Championships in more than one qualifying event the player will advance to the National Championships through the first earned event and any National Championships spots earned in subsequent events will go to the next eligible team from that event. Should an adult qualify for the AAFT in more than one division of the competition, he or she will advance to the national event with the oldest youth bowler. 7. Handicap will be 100% of 220. Each team will bowl three games. 8. The entering average shall be the highest of the following: (a) bowler’s highest 2013-2014 yearbook average or (b) January 1, 2015 current league average of 21 or more games. Bowlers not having an average as specified above will use highest average of 21 games or more as of March 1, 2015. For bowlers only bowling a summer league, a 2014 summer league average of 21 games or more as of August 31, 2014 may be used. All averages must be from a USBC certified league (Bowl.com). If the adult or youth bowler has neither average, bowler must then bowl scratch (220). Do not hold onto your entry waiting for the March 1st average. Simply bring in average verification the date of the tournament. 9. All entrants who have ever been re-rated, refused a re-rate or been disqualified in a Tournament must report this at every level of the tournament for possible re-rate. The tournament director has the right to re-rate a bowler at anytime. The adjustment must be accomplished before the entrant bowls and if the adjusted average is not accepted by the bowler, the entry fee shall be refunded (USBC Rule 319c). 10. Any bowler that fails to report an average will result in automatic disqualification from the tournament in accordance with USBC rules. 11. Ties at the State level will be decided using a one game roll-off, with allotted handicap, to determine the team that will advance to the National Finals. 12. Participation in any Tournament sponsored, conducted or held by or on behalf of BPAA is open, upon the same terms and conditions, to all bowlers who do , or have done, any league tournament, advertised exhibition or any other type bowling (a) in a BPAA member establishment (b) in a non BPAA establishment, ( c) whether such bowler is or is not a member of any bowler’s membership organization. Any owner or employee of any bowling establishment may participate if otherwise eligible. Rules and regulations conducted by the Bowling Proprietors’ Association of America Inc. 13. There must be no fewer than four teams in a division in order to advance to the National Finals. If a division has less than four (4) teams, the tournament director may re-assign teams to the next higher age division. 14. Travel money in the amount of $250 will be issued to the each division winning team advancing to the national finals, but only if they attend and participate. Failure to attend and participate in the national finals will terminate the offer made by the BPAP. 14. All matters not covered by these Rules and Regulations will be determined by the State Tournament Director consistent the with 2015 AAFT Rules and Regulations prepared by the BPAA Tournament Staff. 15. The AAFT Tournament Committee has the right to accept or reject any advancer entry to the National Championships with the return of the entry fee.
