FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
San Pedro Creek Bridge Construction Update (State Route 1) Pacifica
One Way Traffic Control
San Mateo County- The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will need to
re-locate the concrete temporary barriers (k-rail) and re-mark temporary striping at the
intersection of Route 1 and Linda Mar Avenue to prepare for stage 2 of the San Pedro
Creek Bridge Replacement Project.
To ensure worker and public safety, one way traffic controls will be in effect on San
Pedro Avenue. During one way traffic control, one lane of traffic will remain open at all
times with flaggers alternating traffic on northbound and southbound lanes.
However, motorists should allow for extra travel time and expect minor delays.
Construction hours are on Wednesday, May 13 at 7:00 PM until Thursday, May 14 at
6:00 AM.
The new bridge will be completed before October, 2015. The temporary detour is
expected to return to State Route 1 concurrently. (Weather permitting).
This work is part of the San Pedro Creek Bridge Replacement Project that started
construction in May 2014. The project will install a longer and higher bridge over the
creek to provide capacity for the 100-year flood event. In addition, a Class 1 multipurpose path will be added along its eastern side.
