1st Radboud Aesthetic & Reconstructive Round

1st Radboud Aesthetic &
Reconstructive Round
Reanimation
of the
Paralyzed Face
April 18th, 2015
Radboud university medical center, Nijmegen
Dear esteemed colleagues,
I am proud to invite you to participate in the 1st
Radboud Aesthetic & Reconstructive Round on April
18th, 2015 in Nijmegen with the topic “Reanimation
of the paralyzed face“.
The concept of the Radboud Aesthetic & Reconstructive
Rounds is to get hands-on training on selected topics
in plastic surgery from national and international
experts. At the same time, an open and frank discussion among the
attending colleagues about our own problem cases and failures is
strongly encouraged. The content is suitable for residents, but also for
experienced plastic surgeons who want to expand and refine their
surgical armamentarium.
It gives me great pleasure to welcome Professor Manfred Frey from
Austria to our department. Professor Frey is a world known expert in the
field of reconstructive surgery of the facial nerve with decades of
experience including free muscle transplantation, especially in children.
With the establishment of the facial lab at the General Hospital (AKH) of
the Medical University of Vienna, he has pioneered performance in terms
of objectivities and quality assurance of treatment success in facial nerve
reconstruction. Professor Frey was head of the department from 19962013. He received the Theodor Billroth Prize from the Austrian Society for
Surgery, of which he was president in 2012. In 2013, he established the
International Center for Facial Nerve Surgery in Vienna. He was secretary
general of the European Society of Plastic Surgery (EURAPS) and is
currently its president-elect. Numerous publications, lectures and books
illustrate his unique expertise in the area of facial nerve reconstruction.
I look forward to welcoming you in Nijmegen to join an exciting handson training on facial nerve reconstruction and state-of-the-art lectures!
Kind regards,
Dietmar Ulrich
