10 hours per week between 9am and 5pm (Monday to Friday) to
be agreed upon appointment.
Duties and responsibilities include:
To carry out a wide range of cleansing and grounds related tasks including the
collection of litter and dog faeces, sweeping, basic pruning and removal of graffiti
and gum and snow clearance and other similar related activities.
To assist in the cleaning and tidying of the Parish Hall gardens and immediate car
park area of Appleton Parish Hall.
Ad hoc duties ‘as and when required’
Maintenance of the assets for the Parish Council to include gardening, minor repairs
& general maintenance, hedge and tree trimming and verge cutting.
To play a proactive role in identifying new work or damage which needs repairing
either by the Parish Ranger or for reporting to the Clerk for another contractor to
undertake work.
To liaise with members of the public and to act as the first point of contact
To liaise with partner organisations as necessary
To undertake gardening and minor repairs
To undertake any relevant training courses
To always undertake work in accordance with relevant safe methods of work/risk
assessments.
To undertake other work as directed by the Clerk which can be reasonably assumed
to be within the basic purpose of this job and the competence of the Parish Ranger.
To always undertake the work in a polite and courteous manner and treat local
residents and visitors with respect in relation to the performance of your duties.

Lane on side of property known as Quarry Edge, Quarry Lane.
On tarmaced footway on Rosemoor Gardens opposite street light column 13.
Footway at junction of Wood Lane/Bridge Lane.
On verge at junction of Stretton Road and Pepper Street, Appleton Thorn.
By grassed verge on the south side of Lyons Lane near to its junction with
Broom Avenue.
Grit sand in the bins is for use by residents on public access areas as required.
Clerk has the same key to lock on each bin which lock automatically on closure.
However to keep open nut, spring washer and latch removed in that order with
thought that to be locked after winter.
