FBO-14-DPL on Diesel Fuel Pump
The Challenge
Davidson County operates a bus fleet
for the school district. New underground
tanks were installed. The customer
had lost three engines and a number
of injectors since the new underground
tanks were installed. After inspection,
it was discovered that Davidson County
only had spin-on elements in the fuel
pumps. The pumps were both gasoline
and diesel fuel.
Why Racor was Chosen as
the Solution
Racor was able to offer a filtration
solution for Davidson County’s bulk
tank dispensing system and for their
fuel dispensing pumps. Having access
to clean gasoline and diesel fuel has
always been an important way to ensure
machine uptime and reduce costly
repairs. But in today’s diesel engine
world, clean fuel has taken on a whole
new importance. Efficient fuel filtration
throughout the entire delivery stream is
a must.

How the Solution Works
Fuel Dispensing is the last stop before fuel
is introduced to the engines fuel system.
Fuel enters the FBO filter system where
Racor engineered media stops water and
particulates. The result is clean, dry fuel
being dispensed from the fuel pump.
In turn, the cost effective pre-filtration
system provides clean, dry fuel to the
equipment. Several options of elements are
available to meet any diesel fuel filtration
requirements.
The RVFS vessels will remove emulsified
free water and solids from diesel fuel and
gasoline. They are designed to remove solid
contaminants such as dirt, rust, scale and
other solid materials from the fuel stream.
Racor RVFS filter vessels offer economy,
versatility, unparalleled high effciency, and low
maintenance solutions to many fuel delivery
and industrial filtration applications.
Racors’ FBO filter assemblies and RVFS
vessels are designed to meet the toughest
refueling conditions and provide for easy
cartridge change outs.
