In the heat of summer, looking out into the desert.
You feel the dry wind beat against your face
And the stillness makes you wonder,
If there’s life here in the desert.
You begin to thirst,
Your skin is in such pain.
Where is the beauty of the desert.
Where is the cactus and it’s flowers in bloom.
Your soul keeps searching for the answers,
You wonder where is my God to refresh my soul.
The clouds begin to cover, the hot sun of the desert.
Your sweat becomes your cooling rain.
The warm breeze brings a freshness
You relax and close your sad eyes.
As you fall into a peaceful plain.
Your tears begin to stream down,
As your thirsty soul searches.
You wait and wait till silence fills your mind.
You decide to walk the dark night,
Where the light becomes so strong.
That its energy blast will make you eyes go blind.

IIs an eeriness that travels, moving closer is the storm.
I take cover from its wrath, cringe as booming thunder roars.
Lightning streaks across the sky, ripping clouds open, it pours.
Exhausted from my prayer, at the lowest point I feel,
A light from heaven sent, a gift given to heal.
