Jumpstart Hockey
Thank you!
The Peden Hill PAC and
Southbowl Community
Association would like to
thank all parents,
families, staff and
students who volunteered and came to the annual
Family Fun Night. Once again, the Family Fun Night
was a huge success. The proceeds from the Fun
Night will be used to purchase sports equipment
for our school.
Hot Lunch
There will be a Pita Pit Hot Lunch on Wednesday, April
22nd. Forms went home yesterday with students and
must be returned by Thursday, April 16th. Thank you to
the PAC for organizing the lunch.
Early Dismissal & Rockin’ After School
Program
On Thursday, April 16th we will have early dismissal at
1:30 pm. Due to the Early Dismissal the Rockin’ After
School Program will be cancelled for that day.
On Friday, April 10, our
school participated in the
Jumpstart Canadian Tire Cup
at Kin 1 and 2 arenas. This
fabulous day of hockey and
making friends was cosponsored by Canadian Tire,
SD57 and the SD57
Aboriginal Education Department.
Most students were playing their first games of
organized hockey in their lives. We are so thankful for
Canadian Tire’s donation of tens of thousands of dollars
of equipment over the last several years.
It is also important to recognize the efforts of Gige Blais,
who coached and organized equipment and schedules
all year to help make this happen for our students in
grade six and seven.
This program will continue next
year free of cost to 25 players in
GR 6/7. The program’s priority is
to give “first time” players a chance
to experience the game.

Community Schools News
We have 5 SPOTS OPEN for the Rockin After School
Program!! The program runs MONDAY TO THURSDAY
FROM 2:30-4:30, excluding holidays until June 18th
2015.. All Peden Hill Elementary School students in
Kindergarten through to grade 4 are welcome to attend.
The Rockin’ After School Program is FREE to our families
and incorporates a variety of both art and sport
activities into each day. We also provide a healthy snack
each day.
