Whatever the activity, safety always has the
highest priority at The Penray Companies, Inc.
In addition to the safety of our own employees, we
are equally concerned with product safety and the
safe handling of our products by our customers.
Fuel Prep™ Biocide is registered with the
United States Environmental Protection Agency
(USEPA) EPA Reg. No. 65597-1-66596. When
used as directed, Fuel Prep™ Biocide presents no
health hazards.
However the product, as supplied, can cause
severe eye burns, severe skin irritation, or
both and therefore requires special care when
handling. Please refer to the Safety Data Sheet
(SDS) for additional information.
Fuel Prep™ Biocide is valuable in providing the
following benefits:

Quickly kills microorganisms
in contaminated fuel systems.
• Prevents microbial growth
and keeps fuel systems clean
for extended periods of time.
• Fully compatible with fuels,
fuel additives and fuel system
components.
•
Infinitely soluble in the water
where the bugs live, but will
move through the fuel to
treat contaminated water on
vertical surfaces or with the
fuel to offer complete system
protection downstream.

When Fuel Prep™ Biocide is mechanically injected or
manually administered into a fuel system or a tank the
following protective clothing is recommended:
Eye Protection: Wear chemical
splash safety goggles and face
shield. Eye protection worn must
be compatible with respiratory
protection system employed.
Hand
Protection:
Wear
impervious gloves such as Butylrubber or nitrile- rubber gloves.
Gloves should be removed and
replaced immediately if there is
any indication of degradation or
chemical breakthrough. Wash
the outside of gloves before
removing and disposing of gloves.
Note: Material is a possible skin
sensitizer.
Skin & Body Protection: Mixers,
loaders, applicators, and other
handlers exposed to this product
must wear: long-sleeved shirt and
long pants; socks and shoes; and a
chemical resistant apron.
Respiratory Protection: Typical
use of this material does not result
in workplace exposures that exceed
the exposure limits listed in the
Exposure
Limit
Information
Section.
Industrial & Personal Hygiene:
Users of Fuel Prep™ Biocide
should practice good industrial and
personal hygiene. After handling
Fuel Prep™ Biocide you should
always wash your hands thoroughly,
especially before eating, drinking,
smoking, or applying cosmetics.
Additional Protective Measures:
Ensure that eyewash stations and
safety showers are close to the
workstation location.
CONTACT WITH CONCENTRATED FUEL PREP ™ BIOCIDE & FIRST AID
Fuel Prep™ Biocide does not present any human
health hazards in fuel when used as directed.
However, the full-strength product presents two
potential hazards: severe skin irritation and severe eye
burns. Therefore, the following First Aid procedures
are recommended when exposure occurs:
IF SWALLOWED: If swallowed, DO NOT induce
vomiting. If the victim is alert have him rinse their
mouth with water. Never give anything by mouth to a
person who is unconscious or drowsy. Seek immediate
medical attention.
IF ON SKIN (Hair): In case of contact with skin,
immediately remove contaminated clothing and
flush affected areas with soap and water for at least
15-20 minutes. Seek immediate medical attention.
Launder contaminated clothing before reuse. Discard
contaminated clothing that cannot be decontaminated,
such as leather shoes and belts.
IF INHALED: Move to fresh air. Get medical attention,
if irritation or other symptoms develop and persist. If
breathing is difficult, have qualified person administer
oxygen and seek immediate medical attention. If
breathing has stopped, administer artificial respiration
and seek immediate medical attention.
IF IN EYES: In case of eye contact, flush eyes immediately
with plenty of water for at least 15-20 minutes. Remove
contact lenses, if present and easy to do after the first
5 minutes. Continue rinsing. Seek immediate medical
attention.
