Modern electronic systems
contains not only CMOS circuits
but a diversity of device and
circuit technologies.
This course is intended to give a
broader view of the state-of-theart electronics than the devices
and circuits that the Ph.D.
students usually come into
contact with during their
research work.
We will select 6-10 chapters
from the book edited by
Joachim Burghartz that are of
general interest but out of the
student’s normal areas of
research.

Course organization
•
The course consists of selected chapter from the
book + references, organized in <=10 seminars/
meetings during VT2 (April/May) 2015.
•
All students will read the selected chapters before
the seminars.
•
Each student will be given one chapter to present
+ 1-2 of selected research papers (of those
referenced at the end of each book chapter) during
the seminars (45-60 min total per presentation).
Examination
•
Presentation of a book chapter + selected journal article(s)
during a seminar.
•
Active seminar participation.
Credits
•
The course is estimated to 6-8 ECTS credits, depending on
how many students/book chapters/seminars will be
covered in the course.
Todo
•
Select a chapter + 1-2 research papers (mainly from the
reference list at the end of the chapter).
•
Confirm chapter selection with Ted.
•
Discuss additional papers with Ted.
•
8 students => 8 x 1 hour presentations, or maybe better 4 x 2 x 1
hour presentations.
(It is OK for two students to share two chapters.)
