Position Available April 1, 2015: Medical Director and General Practitioner, Primary Care Clinic, Surrey Mental Health and Substance Use Services. The clinic is well situated at the Gateway Sky Train Station and is affiliated with the Mental Health and Substance Use Team. This is a Sessional Position, 5.5 Sessions weekly, in a multidisciplinary clinic consisting of four part time Family Physicians, one full time Nurse Practitioner, two Registered Nurses and two MOAs. The patients are complex with psychiatric +/-addiction issues and multiple medical problems. This MHSU team includes Psychiatrists, Nurses, Case Managers, Therapists, Recreational Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Concurrent Disorder Therapists, and Health Care Workers . We are seeking a Family Physician who has experience treating patients with psychiatric illness and substance use issues. This person would be comfortable working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team. The position is primarily clinical with the additional administrative responsibility of: Overseeing the medical direction of the clinic Ensuring that policies and procedures regarding patient care are in place and followed Chairing and ensuring that regular working meetings take place Responding to complaints in a timely manner Liaising between MHSU(Mental health and substance use services) and physicians at the PCC(Primary Care Clinic) Ensuring adequate practitioner coverage in the clinic Meeting regularly with the Manager regarding clinic affairs Meeting regularly with the Chief of Psychiatry and other required committees Interested candidates please submit your CV and Letter of Intent to: [email protected] by January 30, 2015
