OmniO Rider – a highly innovative, next generation stroller quickly and conveniently transforms from
pushchair to backpack with perfect ease, in a matter of seconds, for ‘hands-free’ on-the-go parenting!
The company is based in Wales with wholly British design at the core of the product.
Samantha & Markus formed Innovation Makers Limited in May 2013.
OmniO Rider was born out of Markus & Samantha’s personal experiences as parents. They felt conventional
strollers didn’t truly cater for the lifestyles of parents and their children. Strollers proved inconvenient when
travelling. As children begin walking, there’s little choice but to take the bulky, weighty and highly impractical
stroller along as backup. Unable to find a pushchair light enough on the market to carry as a backpack, in true
entrepreneurial spirit, the couple decided instead to set up their own company, Innovation Makers Ltd, in
2013, assembling a talented team to make their vision for the ultimate stroller a reality.
They successfully secured £180,000 investment, £30k above the original target, through an equity
crowdsourcing platform – Crowdcube – in November 2014. The currently have a live Indiegogo.com
campaign (http://igg.me/at/OmnioRiderStroller) to provide parents worldwide the opportunity to place
advanced orders for OmniO Rider, at a discounted ‘early-bird’ price. Samantha & Markus have surrounded
their company by a strong team of partners to bring their product to fruition.

From Stroller to Backpack: Unlike any stroller that has gone before,
OmniO Rider conveniently transforms from pushchair to backpack

The adjustable, padded, six-point child harness doubles-up to act as
shoulder and hip straps in backpack mode – helping keep the weight
of OmniO Rider down to a minimum.
A deluxe carry bag / cover ensures clothing and home / car interior
areas are kept clean and clear of dirt and debris.

Omni-Wheels : The team at OmniO have quite literally
redesigned the wheel for their innovative new stroller. The
ground-breaking new ‘omni-wheel’ is a responsive,
patented, wheel-in-a-wheel which provides controlled,
multi-direction steering to offer parents greater agility and
manoeuvrability, ensuring OmniO Rider is at home on city
pavements and woodland walks.
For increased multi-terrain flexibility, the innovative omniwheels can be swapped to the rear axle for easier off-road
steering, while puncture proof tyres seamlessly glide over
smooth/even and rough/uneven surfaces.
The omni-wheels aren’t the end of the innovation: a special
new braking system (patent pending) has been developed in
order that OmniO Rider meets strict international safety
standards. The brakes are applied to the omni-wheels
whether they are on the front or rear axle, by operating the
red foot brake on the rear axle, ensuring OmniO Rider
remains stationary – very clever!
