Tuning Area
Tuning is only permitted in the designated areas as sign posted (see attached map).
Massed Bands
All competing bands are expected to participate in Massed Bands. Bands are to form up near
the Bar, ready to step off at 1.30pm. March in towards the Officials Tent to Green Hills/Battles
O’er, then Scotland the Brave at the halt. Presentations to follow.

• This contest will be conducted in accordance with APBA Contest Rules 2012

Important Information (all participants)
Smoke Free Venue
Curtin University is a smoke free campus. No smoking is permitted anywhere on the grounds.
Curtin Stadium
Curtin Stadium is a generous supporter of this event. If you are in the Stadium at any time
please be courteous and respectful to Curtin staff and other users. The stadium will be open
from 8.00am to 2.00pm.
Parking
Parking is free for the duration of the event. Please abide by all signs. Best parking for the
event is off Beazley Ave and next to Curtin Stadium.

Toilets and Change Rooms
Toilets are located in Building 107, and inside Curtin Stadium. There are also change rooms
inside Curtin Stadium for those who need them. Stadium access 8.00am – 2.00pm only.
First Aid
A St John First Aid Post with two officers will be on site for the duration of the event (as
marked on map). Any incidents or near misses must be reported to the Contest Supervisor.
Rubbish and Recycling
Please use the bins made available for the event – General waste, Recycling and
Paper/Cardboard. Please support Curtin University’s recycling program.
Marquees/Temporary Structures
Bands, Market Stalls and Food Vendors are to provide and erect their own
marquees/structures. Marquees must be erected only in the allocated areas (see attached
map), must be weighted only (do not use stakes/pegs), and size must not exceed 9m2 (unless
previously approved). Please follow the instructions of the Market Stall Coordinator.
Water
Drinking water and water for filling weights for marquees is available from outside Building
107 (as marked on map). Drinking water is also available from inside Curtin Stadium.
Electricity
There is no access to electricity on site. Use of generators, power leads, extension cables and
electrical equipment must be tagged, buried or covered, and kept out of trafficable areas.
Food and Drink
Only Market Stalls with a valid Town of Victoria Park Temporary Food Business permit will be
authorised to trade.
Vehicle Access
Only permitted vehicles can enter the oval. Access is via Beazley Ave (as marked on the map).
Vehicles while on the oval MUST drive less than 10km/hr, windows down and hazard lights on.
Vehicle entry is from 7.00am to 8.30am only. Non-essential vehicles must exit the oval by
8.30am. Vehicles cannot exit or re-enter the oval until after 2.15pm.
