Summer Art Workshops!
In partnership with the Town of Hamden Arts, Recreation & Culture Department
July 6th - August 21st
Imagine, Create and Explore at P.L.A.C.E. art workshops. Now offering
a full day of fun in the sun, art from around the world, games, outdoor
exploration, music and film. All students will spend time on our new
P.L.A.C.E. on the Go! Art & Film Trolley.

Session I: North America’s Wild Spirit - July 6th-10th
Chilkat Drum, Tin craft from Mexico , Dream catchers, Mammoth Cave sculpture.
Session II: South American Fire - July 13th-17th
Argentine Chane Mask, Diguata ceramic bowl, Ñandutí lace inspired painting.
Session III: European wonders - July 20th-24th
Monet inspired 3D- Panting, Greek plaster Paris sculpture, Polish paper cut, Celtic cuff.
Session IV: Exotic African Adventures - July 27th-July 31st
Pyramids of Giza sculpture, mud cloth mat, African tribal mask , Animal print optical art.
Session V: Oceanian Oasis - August 3rd-August 7th
Digireedoo, Aboriginal desert painting,Maori kuro sculpture.
Session VI: Asia, Asia, Asia! - August 10th-August 14th
Japanese fan, Chinese ink painting, Rangoli inspired rug,Warli painting, Origami.
Session VII: Set Sail to the Carribean - August 17th-August 21st
Bongo drums, painted tiles, batik, handmade Jewelry Paper mache masks.
All Art Workshop Sessions: Ages 7 to 12. Full day: M-F 9:00 am -3:00 pm. Half Day: 9:00 am-12 pm.
Full Day $295/wk. Half Day $165/wk. Materials & Snacks Included. Up to date health forms required. Full day students must bring lunch.
Workshops will be held at the Hamden Middle School , 2623 Dixwell Avenue Hamden, CT 06518
