May 15, 2015 Dear Coach/Manager, This document contains important information regarding the Yogurt Hut Memorial Day Weekend Tournament at U.S. Cellular Community Park in Medford. If you are not the primary team contact, please forward this email to the appropriate person(s). The Medford Parks and Recreation Department is honored to host your team, and we’re looking forward to a fun-filled weekend. The weather forecast calls for generally sunny and mild temperatures with highs around 70. (Spectators may want to bring a light coat for mornings and evenings, along with sunblock.) Tournament Web Site, Schedules and Brackets: Tournament schedules and information for all age groups are posted at http://playmedford.awssports.com/ssp/memorialdaytournament. Each team is guaranteed three pool-play games that determine seeding into a singleelimination gold or silver brackets. Please share this link with your parents because scores and brackets will be continually updated during the event. Due to field constraints and in order to get families home at a reasonable hour on Monday, the opening round of bracket play begins on Sunday evening for most age groups. It is critical that coaches, parents and players are prepared for a quick transition from pool play to bracket play on Sunday. Check-In Please check-in at the ticket booth at your field location before your first game. Each team is required to submit an official City of Medford team roster/liability waiver signed by parent/ guardian prior to the team’s first game. This form is posted on the tournament web site. Turn in the roster and direct inquiries to tournament site supervisors, who typically wear green staff shirts. For your convenience, the form can also be emailed to [email protected] or faxed to 541-774-2560. Please have copies of birth certificates and team liability insurance forms available for inspection throughout the tournament. Rosters Each team is required to submit this roster/liability waiver form with parent signatures, before the start of their first tournament game. To save time in reviewing, teams are encouraged to email completed rosters to [email protected] prior to the day of the tournament. Rosters are frozen after pool play. Players shall only physically play for one (1) team per tournament per weekend regardless of age division Tournament Rules NFHS rules govern play unless modified by the Medford tournament rules and procedures document posted on the tournament web page.
