Welcome to Plaza Academy’s West Side Story Camp! We are thrilled to have your student as a part of this cast and are looking forward to a great experience. The following information should help in that endeavor and answer many of your questions. th Parent Meeting: Saturday July 18 2:00 3:00 pm at Plaza Academy Camp Basics: Location: Plaza Academy 221 Mill St and Cleburne Conference Center 1501 W Henderson St, Cleburne th st Dates: July 20 31 Time: 9am – 3pm Daily Schedule: 9:00 – 9:15 Morning “Homeroom” Assembly (Plaza Academy) 9:25 – 10:15 1st Morning Class 10:25 – 11:15 2nd Morning Class 11:25 – 12:15 3rd Morning Class 12:25 – 12:45 Lunch Break 12:50 – 1:15 Workshop or guest performer 1:20 – 3:00 Rehearsal The morning classes will consist of Choreography, Blocking and Music classes. Does NOT include a drink. To order on line go to plaza theatre.com, click on the Plaza Academy link, then click on “Tuition, Fees and Payments” tab and click on “ register and pay online”. Log on to your account and click on “search online store”. A refrigerator is available for those who would like to bring their own lunch. Drinks will be available for sale for $1. Due to time limitations, no one will be allowed to leave during lunch break. Attendance: Because camp hours are imperative for rehearsal time students have to prepare for the show, it is important that they miss as little of camp as possible. We understand that kids get sick and that summer is busy. Please try to keep absences to a minimum. If a student will be leaving camp early for the day or if they will be picked up by someone other than the person designated on their profile, we must have a note. This is for their protection. Also – students must be picked up in a timely manner. Theater staff cannot be held responsible for campers after 3pm. If you require special arrangements please speak to Tina. Important Camp Dates: th Friday July 24 : Pizza Party. Students who wish to have Pizza need to turn in $3 to Hannah or rd ordered online by Thursday July 23 . th st Thursday, July 30 and Friday, July 31 Camp will be held at the Cleburne Conference Center, 1501 W Henderson St, Cleburne Auditions: th Auditions for Tony and Maria will be held Saturday, July 11 from 9 am 12 pm. Students auditioning will be taught the music and given the sides at the audition, no prepared material is needed. Students th cast as Tony and Maria will be notified by Monday, July 13 and will need to pick up scripts so they can be close to memorized before camp begins. th ALL OTHER PARTS will be auditioned during the first day of camp (Monday, July 20 ) th The cast list will be posted on facebook and emailed out by 4 p.m. Monday July 20 . ALL STUDENTS CAST IN SPEAKING AND DANCE CORP PARTS MUST ATTEND THE FOLLOWING EVENING REHEARSALS: th th Monday July 20 Friday July 24 6:3010 pm th Saturday July 25 9am1:30pm th th Monday July 27 Thursday July 30 6:3010 pm TH ALL STUDENTS WILL HAVE DRESS REHEARSALS ON WEDNESDAY JULY 29 AND TH THURSDAY JULY 30 FROM 6:3010 PM Performance Dates : st th West Side Story plays July 31 August 8 Wed, Thurs, Fri and Sat evenings at 7:30 and Sat Matinees 3 pm. All performances will be at the Cleburne Conference Center, 1501 W Henderson St, Cleburne. 0 Show Tickets: Tickets can be purchased through Plaza Theatre Company Box Office at 8712020600. Tickets price: Adult $15, Senior and Student (HIgh School and College) $14, Student (12 and under) $13 Costumes There will be a $25 costume rental fee. This will get the student a souvenir show tshirt and covers all costume pieces needed excluding shoes. Performance footwear each student will need two pair of shoes one casual and one dress. Below you will find styles we are looking for: Girls casual: Girls Dress: Please remember that the students need to be able to dance in these shoes so choose shoes that fill well and heels that are not too high. Boys casual: Boys Dress: Supplies Each student will need to bring a 3 ring binder, pencils, and shoes they can dance easily in. (NO FLIP FLOPS) Tuition Tuition is due in full by July 20th. Camp tuition in non refundable.
