In pursuance to the decision of Executive Committee meeting held on nod May 2015 that all the
doctors applying for renewal shall be registered for 5 years and no retrospective CME certificate
shall be asked. An affidavit by each doctor shall be demanded where as,

This affidavit is mandatory to be collected at the time of submission of renewal Performa.
The doctor as per their affidavit shall be duty bound to submit year wise CME hours @ 15
credit hours/contact hours for GPs and 30 credit /contact hours for Specialist.
CME Cell then shall be responsible to collect these credits as per SOP'S.
The credit hours submitted by each doctor shall be pooled in the database of each doctor.
Registration section shall have that portal and at the time of next renewal after 5 years. Upon
these CME hours case shall be entertained for issuance of license to practice for next five
years with renewal.
FOLLOWING
PRACTICE:-
ARE THE SOP'S PRACTICED BY PM&DC TO ISSUE LICENCE TO
I. All graduates / postgraduates intend to practice shall be required to have CME as per
PM&DC guidelines to practice Medicine! Dentistry @ 15 CME hours i.e clock hours for
G.P's and 30 CME credit hours i.e clock hours for Specialist.
2. No certificate without CME hours shall be accepted for renewal.
3. Certificate that is "Not valid for practice" may be issued on the request of doctor who
fails to provide CME. If the certificate was expired previously, it shall only be renewed
up-till a maximum of five years.
4. CME certificate shall be submitted duly attested by Professor! Associate Professor!
Assistant Professor of Medical/Dental
Medical Superintendent!
College of Pakistan recognized
by PM&DC.
Commandant of recognized teaching hospital, Commanding
Officer (Army Medical Corps), EDHOIDHO or authorized officer of Pakistan Embassy
abroad.
5.
I" time permanent registration for five years (after one year provisional registration) the
applicant doctor will not have to provide CME hours.
6. No exemption of CME hour will be given to the practitioner after age of 70.
7. No exemption of CME hours will be given to postgraduate trainees or those who have
completed their postgraduate within last five years.
8. All the doctors, who have been issued renewal after I" January 2015 shall have to
provide CME hours for the year 2015 by 31" December 2015. Failing which his license
to practice shall be suspended. Foreign CME shall be only considered if it is issued by
approved institutes by the Council of respective country i.e ACEME, AACME European
Society ofCME.

10. The renewal certificates being issued till 31" December, 2015 in compliance to previous
decision of Executive Committee shall be renewed with same remarks; " No further
renewal shall be done without CME/CDE after 31/12/2015" but shall be renewed for
further five years on submission of the above affidavit."
II. All the pending cases shall be communicated
with the objection letter of affidavit
mentioned above (This is to issue five year renewal). Five year renewal shall be issued to
only those who shall submit this affidavit.
12. The CME activitieS! certificates are also mandatory for basic sciences teaching faculty.
13.50% CME are required in the specialty of the respective doctor and rest of the 50% shall
be accepted from other than its respective specialty. Only 25% online CME s
be
accepted of total CME.
