The BBQ Throwdown is the feature event, but we also host retail vendors, live music and kids activities to encourage people to stay the entire day. In 2014, we had 17 BBQ Teams and over 3,500 people attend and taste. Following is team information and rules from the event host, however, be aware that the PNWBA has competition instructions for teams and cooks, including but not limited to; cooking area requirements, rules of conduct, disqualifying actions, inspections, food preparation, allowed garnish, etc (Rules available at pnwba.com). TEAM INFORMATION: All spaces measure 20x20. A limited number of larger spaces may be available on a first come, first served basis. Please contact the Head Judge, Jane Biehl at [email protected] to make arrangements. There is NO ELECTRICITY on site -- Quiet generators are allowed. Water spigot is available in the kitchen for your use. There is no water hookup to your site. Number of team spaces is limited Teams are strongly encouraged to serve tastings to the public.
