BBQ TEAM APPLICATION
This daytime event is hosted in the beautiful 35-acre City Park. The BBQ Throwdown is the feature event,
but we also host retail vendors, live music and kids activities to encourage people to stay the entire day.
In 2014, we had 17 BBQ Teams and over 3,500 people attend and taste.

Dallas Freedomfest proudly partners with the Pacific Northwest BBQ Association to be a
“Sanctioned BBQ Event”. Following is team information and rules from the event host, however,
be aware that the PNWBA has competition instructions for teams and cooks, including but not
limited to; cooking area requirements, rules of conduct, disqualifying actions, inspections, food
preparation, allowed garnish, etc (Rules available at pnwba.com).
TEAM INFORMATION:

All spaces measure 20x20. A limited number of larger spaces may be available on a first come, first
served basis. Please contact the Head Judge, Jane Biehl at [email protected] to make arrangements.

There is NO ELECTRICITY on site -- Quiet generators are allowed.

Water spigot is available in the kitchen for your use. There is no water hookup to your site.
 Number of team spaces is limited
 Teams are strongly encouraged to serve tastings to the public. (cups provided)

Association (PNWBA), its officers and board members, event coordinators and judges; and the Dallas
Freedomfest, City of Dallas, Dallas Area Visitors Center, its agents, volunteers and employees from any
and all liability for damages, injuries, or loss of any type whatsoever which may arise directly or indirectly as
the result of the operation of the Dallas Freedomfest, City of Dallas, Dallas Area Visitors Center. I
agree that my participation shall be at my own risk and expense; and that whatever goods, services,
entertainment or any other lawful pursuit which I may provide or participate in, to any extent, is at my own
free will, expense and exposure; and that this RELEASE is given of my own free will and accord. Further, I
hereby grant full permission the Dallas Freedomfest, City of Dallas, Dallas Area Visitors Center, the
PNWBA, and/or their agents authorized by them, to use any photographs, videotapes, motion pictures,
recordings or other record of this event for any legitimate purpose. I agree to abide by the rules and
regulations of the PWNBA. The PNWBA reserves the right to refuse entry.
