John’s Church, Purbrook?
The group has been
going for just nine months,
and was started by Alfie
Wootten, a congregation
member who is part of the
Pompey Pluckers and other
groups.
They meet each Friday
night from 7pm for an hour
of practice. Ultimately, they
hope to perform as part of
services at the church.

PORTSMOUTH: St Mark’s Church in
North End would like to appoint a new
organist.
The requirement is to play for
first and third Sundays of the month,
with occasional extras such as Choral
Evensong and fifth Sundays of the
month.
There is a robed choir, which meets
for rehearsal on Friday evenings. No
fees, but expenses paid.
The parish currently has a part-time
organist who covers second and fourth
Sundays and takes some of the choir
practices when available.
