Fellow Legion, Ladies Auxiliary and Son of the American Legion Members,
I want to thank everyone who came out and helped at the AFR Bike Blessing
on May 3, 2015. Everything went very smooth and it was a beautiful day for
the Blessing. Our next big bike run will be the Cincinnati Breast Fest. We will
need lots of help that day- there will be two waves of bikes coming in and if it
is anything like last year we will be extremely busy. If you would like to help
please be at the Post about 10 AM. The first wave of bikes is expected around
12:30 PM.
Recently the Post mailed out our own renewal notice for the Legion members.
So far we have had about 1/3 of our Legion members respond. It would be
great to be 100% of our membership goal at the Legion State Convention at
the end of June. If you haven’t sent in your 2016 Legion dues please either
drop by the Post or mail a check for $30.00 to Yeager-Benson Post 199 PO 603
Harrison, Ohio 45030. If by chance you have paid your 2016 Legion dues and
would get a dues notice from National don’t pay it. It takes a few weeks after
we get the cards for all the paperwork to catch up! If ever you have a question
about your membership dues please call me @ 513-476-1969 or email me at
[email protected]. If you served during WWII the Legion will pay your dues
just let me know you were a WWII Veteran. It is our way to say thank you to the
all of you who saved our world!
If you haven’t been at one of our breakfasts please stop down the third Sunday
of each month. We serve breakfast from 8:00 AM to 12 Noon. The cost is
just $7.00 for adults and $4.00 for kids under 12. The menu is: eggs, bacon,
sausage, gravy, fruit, biscuits, potatoes, coffee, milk, juice and more.
Please help support our Post by attending.
Do you have someone or know of someone who has an upcoming wedding,
anniversary and special occasion coming up and need a hall to rent? We have
a beautiful hall and we have many rental packages to cover all your needs.
Just give me a call @ 513-476-1969 and I will go over all the details with you.
Remember Legion meetings are the 2nd Monday @ 7:00 PM. Light
refreshments are served after the meeting. I hope to see you soon!

Cincinnati Breast Fest - will be June 14, 2015- If you would like to help please come
down. We are expecting the 1st wave about 12:30 PM. We can start using help between 10 AM to set up and additional help around 11:30 AM. There will be two waves.
I think we will be all down and cleaned up by 5:00 PM.
VA - Effective 2015, VA Eliminated the use of net worth as a determining factor for
both health care program and co-payment responsibilities. This change makes VA
health care benefits more accessible for lower-income Veterans and brings VA policies in line with Secretary Bob McDonald’s initiative which reorients VA around Veteran’s needs. Veterans may submit updated income information at www.1010ez.med.
va.gov/ or by visiting the Cincinnati VA. Questions you can call toll free 1-877-2228387.
Newsletter -You can help the Post reduce costs by email instead of by mail. It is
quick and easy and could reduce the number of Newsletters the Posts has to mail out.
If you sign up you will get a notification by email when the most recent newsletter is
available on the web by going to http://post 199.org/subscribe. You will get access to
the newsletter faster than having it mailed to you and you help the Post save money.

Corn Hole- The SAL is having a Corn Hole Tournament every Monday @ 6 PM- Buy
in $5.00. All monies returned in prize money. Luck of the
draw for partners. Buckets of beer will be for sale 5 for
$9.00 during Corn Hole.
Music - Music and Karaoke the following dates by Dr. AlJune 6, June 19, July 11 and July 31. Music be starts at
7:00 PM and go to 11:00 PM.
Bingo - every Thursday night. Door open at 6:00 PM and
play begins at 7:15- we are always looking for volunteers or
players.
July 4th - Post closes at 6PM. Come to the Harrison Community Center and support
the Color guard, Honor Guard and Sons of the Legion who will all have booths that
day.
Ladies Auxiliary Meeting - June 17th- Meeting starts at 7:30 PM. The Ladies will
have a cook out at 6:30 PM. Auxiliary members are asked to bring a covered dish and
the Ladies Auxiliary will supply the meat.
Free Juke Box Night - come out and enjoy our new Jukebox- every Friday from 8OO
PM until 12 will be free juke box night unless Dr. Al is playing. It is the bartender discretion as far if there is a sporting event on TV that might take precedence.
Breakfasts - June 21 from 8AM to 12 Noon. All Dads’ in attendance will be in for a
drawing for some special prizes. July 19th from 8 AM to 12 Noon. July 19th 8 AM to
12 Noon. $7.00 for adults and $4.00 for children under 12.
