NOATECH PRECISION BULK WATER METER The World’s Most Advanced And Reliable Bulk (Large Diameter) Smart Water Meter The Company has developed a range of large diameter (2”-16”) smart water meters featuring unique flow rate technology, with precision accuracy in two way measurement. It also incorporates water velocity, pressure, and temperature measurement, with in-built bidirectional remote communications, and digital display; all integrated and sealed in a single plastic housing, with the option of an internal valve closure (on 2” meter) for prepayment and pressure control applications. The solution is part of the Company’s Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) end-to-end platform. Based on GIS maps, using smart water meters as smart sensors, the system performs water loss analysis on the distribution network, rapidly and precisely identifying leakages and pipe bursts within the hour. Thanks to the tested and field proven performance of its technology, backed by patents in USA, Israel and Europe, the Company is poised for major growth by offering unmatched smart grid functionality and performance with measureable benefits at competitive prices. PowerCom Noatech Ltd. is a subsidiary of PowerCom Ltd., a company established in 2006, and a leader in the research & development, marketing and supply of smart grid solutions, as a complete platform based on software and hardware devices. Offerings High Precision Smart Water Meter Meter Data Management Solutions Water loss (leakages and pipe burst) detection Water pressure and temperature sensing Prepayment and vending Advanced tariffs Workforce automation Business intelligence GIS event location Customer portal Remote readings Remote disconnection Long battery lifetime Robust communications Automatic alerts Accurate readings 2-way Communications RF GPRS SMART STEPS to SMARTER WATER GRIDS Snapshot of the Breakthrough and Proven Technology No moving parts together with a patent protected algorithm incorporating technology of weighing water and the ability to remotely recalibrate the sensors, enables the deployment of meters between 2" to 16" in diameter that are much more accurate in bi-directional water flow readings than available today. It results in reduced scaling; lowest pressure loss; and is unaffected by sand, small debris or turbulence; as well as eliminates measurement of air. This technology enables the measurement of pressure and temperature in a single unit (all-inone), eliminating the need for additional sensors in the water system, sending information of temperate, flow and pressure in each section of the pipe with analysis of the dependency of the leakage on the pressure. In the next phase, the Company plans to implement the same technology for large gas and steam meters. The smart water meter batteries are able to achieve a useable life expectancy of up to 10 years with hourly communications. Batteries are field replaceable and takes less than 10 minutes. The meters are protected to IP68 and capable of communicating via GPRS or RF (interchangeable module). There is an option of a valve on the 2” meter to disconnect customers for prepayment applications. Delivering Customers a Fast ROI Near real time leakage calculation (hourly analysis) with automatic Leakage Detection alerts substantially reduces non-revenue water loss. Representations of water losses are programmed to appear on a GIS enabled map for rapid response. Data from this analysis also enables assessment and planning of infrastructure upgrades. The system is fitted with smart anti-tamper mechanisms. It detects in real time any attempts at tampering and automatically sends a notification alert to the operator (SMS/Email). The customer has visibility and access to consumption data via a customer portal. The system features automatic SMS/email notifications to the user, triggered when specified maximum consumption levels are reached, when leakages are detected, or when credit is low. The system will integrate data from multiple 3rd party complementary sensors (acoustic leakage detection, water level, water quality, pressure reducing valves, etc.) into a single value-added platform and provide utilities with a comprehensive Water Distribution Management System. Data from installations will show that the investment payback period is very short (in some cases a few months). Overcoming Challenges The smart water management market is poised for rapid growth, driven by a need among utilities in both developing and developed countries to reduce high levels of leakages (nonrevenue water). Water losses (typically between 20%-70%), are caused mostly by leakages in the water distribution network, and not at the consumer side. Alternatives for bulk water meters, based on mechanical, electromagnetic and ultrasonic technology, is limited for low cost, reliable, low energy solutions. Existing technologies typically fail to maintain accuracy within 2 years of installation; suffer from inability to measure low flow; measure air in the system as if it was water flow; cannot measure bi-directional water flow at the same accuracy; and require an external unit for communications. SMART STEPS to SMARTER WATER GRIDS Technical Features Bi-directional water flow measurement with same high precision in both directions. Also measures and transmits readings of water temperature; kinetic pressure; as well as static pressure for control of pressure boosters. Eliminates any installment requirements for straight pipe section of 10D 5D upstream and downstream respectively. The unit features internal memory enabling the retention of up to 60 days of 10 second readings. AMI two-Way Communications: with an internal transmitter (GSM). Option of RF. Automatic alerts provide remote notification (SMS/Email) of critical events including: low battery level; tampering; leakages; communication loss; etc. Ultrasonic functionality together with a unique and patented method for correcting accuracy utilizing water temperature, weight and pressure.
