We,,humans,,are,social,creatures.,We,are,born,in,a,family,,we,grow,in,the,safety,that,the,
family,provides;,later,on,,we,extend,our,connections,to,our,school,group,,friends,,a,new,
family.,During,our,life,,we,constantly,seek,to,relate,to,other,people.,We,look,for,stories,and,
people,to,inspire,us,and,as,we,grow,,we,fulfill,our,need,for,significance,and,contribution,
from,inspiring,others,,too.,,
We,are,in,search,for,models,all,the,time,!,some,of,us,do,it,consciously,,others,do,it,
unconsciously.,,No,matter,how,we,do,this,,we,always,have,a,model,we,tend,to,reach.,,
In,our,early,life,,it,is,a,parent,or,an,older,sibling,we,look,up,to.,Then,,most,of,us,,find,real,
inspiration,in,a,teacher,or,a,special,classmate,or,friend.,Teenagers,,especially,tend,to,show,
very,clearly,their,admiration,for,their,idols,–,which,are,usually,a,celebrity,–,as,an,
expression,of,their,specialness,…,you,all,remember,the,famous,“model,trends”,,such,as,the,
Madonna,lace,years,,and,the,desperation,of,many,parents,seeing,their,teenage,daughters,
imitating,their,idol,…,I,was,more,of,a,Michael,Jackson,follower,,although,I’m,not,sure,that,
made,my,parents,happier.,!,
Throughout,our,life,,we,have,several,role,models.,The,way,we,choose,them,depends,on,
the,stage,we,are,at,in,our,life,and,on,the,goals,we,have,at,that,particular,time.,We,may,
choose,a,different,model,for,each,area,we’d,like,to,develop.,,
Young,children,like,to,imitate,,to,identify,themselves,with,a,greater,character.,And,they,
choose,one,from,the,family.,Most,teenagers,want,to,stand,out,from,the,crowd,and,they,
choose,a,model,that,is,seen,as,original.,Young,adults,relate,to,people,who,share,the,same,
dreams,,goals,and,desires.,They,find,models,in,professors,,book,authors,,inspirational,
speakers,or,superiors.,

While,anybody,can,influence,another,person,with,her,experience,and,behavior,,true,role,

1. The,desire,to,contribute,to,the,wellbeing,of,others,
Role,models,are,usually,active,individuals,in,their,community.,They,give,their,

2. The,ability,to,inspire,others,
The,first,audio,personal,growth,material,I,listened,to,,was,a,seminar,of,Jim,Rohn.,
Never,heard,about,him,before,and,I,had,no,idea,what,he,looked,like,,or,what,he,
did.,But,,when,I,heard,him,speak,,I,was,mesmerized.,His,speech,transported,me,to,
my,childhood,,when,I,was,listening,to,my,grandfather’s,stories,,and,made,me,feel,I,
could,achieve,anything,I,set,my,mind,to.,His,simplicity,and,modesty,were,heart!
warming,and,very,encouraging.,!,,
3. Great,sense,of,self!confidence,
People,follow,people,who,know,where,they,are,going,…,or,at,least,they,give,the,
impression,that,no,matter,what,obstacles,they,find,on,the,way,,they,will,reach,the,
destination.,,
4. Clarity,over,their,values,and,goals,
Few,people,have,a,clear,vision,of,what,their,life,should,look,like,,and,even,fewer,
commit,to,working,hard,to,achieve,their,goals,and,dreams.,So,,when,we,drift,along,
the,life’s,shores,,we,need,guidance.,We,need,someone,with,clear,strong,values,to,
set,an,example,,to,inspire,us,to,build,our,own,goals,,discover,our,own,values,and,

5. They,have,a,history,of,turning,failure,into,success,
Let’s,be,honest,–we’re,all,suckers,for,success,stories.,But,,when,success,comes,after,
really,low,moments,or,a,series,of,bad,failures,,that’s,when,we,get,truly,inspired.,
When,a,normal,person,like,you,and,me,rises,from,her,own,ashes,,we,get,hope,that,

Children%and%their%heroes%
Few,days,ago,,I,was,having,a,conversation,with,my,6,years,old,nephew.,Every,now,and,
then,we,spend,a,weekend,together.,While,he,does,childish,,boyish,pranks,,he,is,generally,a,
good,,wise,little,man,with,quite,a,sensitive,personality.,,
So,,as,we,were,playing,and,talking,,the,TV,was,running.,When,I,looked,up,,there,was,an,
add,for,a,show,with,K1,fights,,where,those,big,bully,guys,scream,and,hit,and,jump,on,each,
other.,Just,as,a,test,,I,asked,my,nephew,whether,he,liked,that,kind,of,shows.,His,answer,
came,straightforward:,“Yes,,I,do.,I,like,everything,that,my,daddy,likes,and,he,likes,it.,So,,I,
do,,too.”,,
Now,,if,his,father,would,have,heard,him,,I’m,sure,he’d,say,“THAT’S,MY,ZZON!,A,real,man.”,
But,,you,see,,the,little,boy,is,doing,his,best,to,impress,his,father.,He,wants,to,be,like,him,,
talk,like,him,,dress,like,him.,Even,though,those,activities,don’t,really,fit,his,little,sensitive,
personality.,,
My,nephew,is,a,lucky,case.,But,,what,if,his,dad,was,engaged,in,destructive,behaviors,,such,
as,violence,or,drinking?,Would,that,picture,be,a,positive,or,negative,model,for,a,young,
child?,
As,parents,,we,are,not,fully,aware,of,the,influence,we,have,on,our,kids’,lives.,We,are,their,
first,mentors,,their,first,teachers.,How,we,conduct,our,families,,our,lives,and,ourselves,is,
crucial,for,the,lives,of,our,children.,,
Most,parents,want,for,their,children,better,lives,than,their,own.,And,they,try,so,hard,to,
achieve,that,by,educating,the,kids.,Sometimes,that,works,,but,sometimes,it,doesn’t.,They,
would,have,better,chances,with,their,kids,if,they’d,set,the,example,they,want,to,teach.,

I,remember,a,funny,story,that,Tony,Robbins,was,telling,about,his,youth.,As,a,child,,he,
admired,his,father,a,lot.,And,he,wanted,so,much,to,be,like,him.,One,evening,,he,demanded,
to,his,mother,to,bring,him,a,beer,,as,she,used,to,do,for,his,father.,Of,course,,she,refused.,
But,as,the,young,boy,insisted,that,he,wants,to,drink,beer,as,his,father,did,,she,thought,
about,teaching,him,a,lesson.,So,,she,made,him,a,deal,that,she,would,bring,a,6,can,pack,,
and,that,he,would,have,to,drink,all,of,them.,Tony,proudly,opened,the,first,can,,sipped,a,
little,shrugging,from,the,bitter,sour,taste,and,hardly,drank,the,first,can.,By,the,third,can,he,
was,already,sick.,That’s,how,he,learned,to,associate,beer,with,being,sick,and,never,drank,it,

That’s,a,happy,outcome,though.,Unfortunately,,role,models,can,also,have,a,negative,
impact,on,someone’s,life,–,this,is,especially,true,with,children.,That,is,why,parents,should,
concentrate,on,a,positive,upbringing,of,their,kids.,An,emphasis,put,on,positive,,
empowering,attitude,toward,people,and,life,situations,is,the,best,teaching,you,can,offer.,

During, my, school, years,, I, made, a, considerable, number, of, good, friends., I, was, blessed,
indeed.,I,used,to,come,home,and,,full,of,excitement,,tell,my,dad,all,about,them.,It,use,to,
baffle,me,that,,more,often,than,not,,he,would,ask,me,the,same,series,of,questions:,“Do,
they,study,well?”,,“Who,are,their,parents,and,what,is,their,occupation?”,and,so,on.,A,bit,
awkward,,I,used,to,think.,Why,should,I,care,about,their,grades?,What,do,I,care,about,their,
parents,and,their,background?,
When,I,told,my,first,coach,about,the,relationship,I,was,having,with,a,close,member,of,my,
family,,a,relationship,that,was,draining,me,of,energy,and,time,and,which,was,taking,a,big,
toll,on,my,emotions,,he,advised,me,to,give,it,up.,I,really,loved,that,person,and,felt,very,
attached,to,her,,so,naturally,I,was,mad.,How,could,he,not,understand,that,it,would,hurt,
me,to,back,out?,That,it,would,be,even,worse,not,having,that,person,in,my,life…or,at,least,
that’s,what,I,thought,back,then.,,
I,stubbornly,stayed,in,the,relationship,,wanting,to,inspire,her,to,want,more,and,grow,with,
me.,During,this,time,,I,went,through,many,frustrating,moments;,moments,when,I,had,to,
lower,my,standards,to,come,to,the,same,level,with,her;,to,adjust,the,height,of,my,dreams,,
as,she,would,label,them,as,unreasonable;,to,live,against,my,values;,and,finally,I,ended,up,
not,talking,about,my,projects,,my,“exotic”,wishes,and,dreams.,
Couple,of,years,and,many,anxiety,episodes,later,,I,naturally,bailed,out,of,that,relationship.,,
In,my,country,there,is,a,popular,saying,that,goes,like:,“Tell,me,who,you’re,seeing,and,I’ll,
tell,you,who,you,are.”,
Yes,,it,is,true.,We,become,like,the,people,we,spend,the,most,time,with.,,I,tested,that,on,
myself.,For,a,loved,one,,I,unconsciously,changed,myself,and,walked,another,road,than,the,
one,I,wanted.,Then,,I,suddenly,realized,that,I,nearly,forgot,my,dreams;,I,began,doubting,

myself,,started,having,self!confidence,issues.,Luckily,for,me,,I,was,pretty,strong,about,my,
values,and,I,understood,I,couldn’t,live,differently,than,I,wanted,for,anybody,else’s,sake.,,
