Similarly, you can also make a donation in honor of someone who has done a special favor, completed a milestone or is having a special event. What a unique and special way to remember someone’s life or special achievements. Please think of the FRIENDS when you are deciding how to commemorate those who mean something special to you. The Friends of the Poquoson Public Library have joined with Amazon’s newest program...AmazonSmile. Through this program, Amazon donates 0.5% of the price of your eligible purchases to the Friends of the Poquoson Library whenever you shop on AmazonSmile with your linked Amazon account. If you don’t have an Amazon Account, don’t worry. You can open one when you sign on. It is very easy to link your Amazon.com account to the AmazonSmile Program. Just click on this link http://smile.amazon.com/ch/52-1245176 and follow the instructions (or go to the Friends page on the library website and click on the “get started” button in the Shop at AmazonSmile Banner). When you get to the part where it asks you which charity, type in Friends of the Poquoson Publick Library (and no...that’s not a typo. They are using the old spelling of public which makes us even more unique that we already are!). Once you click “search” it will pull up our account and then you click and select and you are linked. Every time you make a purchase on Amazon.com on eligible products you will be supporting the library. There are millions of items that are eligible and their eligibility will be listed on their product detail page. You can rest easy. The only thing Amazon gives us is the donation...never any personal details on your purchases. So don’t wait. Get started supporting your favorite little Library while doing your online shopping.
