I. C. NORCOM CLASS OF ’70 SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION
FOR HIGH SCHOOL SENIORS
PURPOSE: To provide scholarships to a deserving I. C. Norcom high school graduating senior and an
I. C. Norcom class of 1970 alumnus’ grandchild planning to pursue a course of study at an accredited
college, university or accredited vocational or technical learning institution.
AWARD COMPONENTS: $1000 scholarships will be awarded to two students selected by the I. C.
Norcom Class of 1970 Scholarship Committee.
CRITERIA:
1. Applicant must be currently enrolled at I. C. Norcom High School or applicant must be a
grandchild of an active I. C. Norcom class of 1970 alumnus.
2. Applicant must be a graduating high school senior June or August 2015.
3. Applicant must be a full-time college/university/or accredited vocational or technical learning
institution freshman in the fall semester of 2015.
4. Applicant must have at least a 3.0 G. P. A. on a 4.0 grade scale.
5. Applicant must have demonstrated leadership abilities through participation in
community, volunteer, extra-curricular, or other services. (at least one activity).
APPLICATION PROCESS:
1. Application must be typed. Handwritten applications will not be processed.

2. Application and all related documents must be postmarked no later than March 28, 2015.
3. Related documents include:
A. Completed typewritten application
B. Letter of application addressed to the Scholarship Committee. The letter should contain a
brief explanation of career goals and biographical (background) information.
C. One (1) letter of recommendation from the student’s high school teacher or administrator
D. A complete high school transcript with cumulative grade point averages and a class
standing/rank.
Deadline for application is March 28, 2015. Applications postmarked after this date will not be
considered.

* A recipient’s failure to be enrolled at an accredited college, university or
vocational/technical school by September 30, 2015 would void the scholarship. A
verification letter from the school’s registrar’s office must be provided prior to the recipient
receiving the scholarship award.
