“USING EVIDENCE IN GUIDELINES IMPLEMENTATION”
Dr. Jessie McGowan
Dr. Jessie McGowan has a PhD in Information Studies and extensive experience working in hospitals, universities,
and public health. She holds an adjunct faculty appointment at the University of Ottawa in the Department of
Medicine, and is Associate Editor of the Journal of Clinical Epidemiology (impact factor 5.3). She has been
involved with the Cochrane Collaboration since 1995, and is a co-convener of their Information Retrieval
Methods Group. Since 2010, she has worked extensively with the Canadian Society for International Health in
Kazakhstan to introduce evidence-based medicine and clinical practice guidelines adaptation and
implementation.
