Walk For Life 2015 Event
 When: Saturday, May 16, 2015
Where: Kennywood Park, 4800 Kennywood Blvd., West Mifflin, PA 15122

Time: Check-in begins at 8:45 a.m. at the front gate. Walk begins at
9:30 a.m. inside the park at Kandy Kaleidoscope.
Why: By participating in the PRC's "Walk for LIFE", one of the
fundraising events we host each year, YOU will play a vital part in
a ministry that can change the way young men and women view
LIFE! YOU make a difference as you pray for, celebrate with, and,
most importantly, raise funds and awareness for the life of the
unborn.

Do I need to register before the Walk?
Yes! All participants must be registered prior to walk day. This year all participants are encouraged to
register online.

Do you accept in-person registration (for the technically challenged)?
Yes, come to the PRC, fill out a walker form (at the front desk), attach your registration fee - we will
create your walker webpage for you.

What is the cost to register for the Walk for Life?
Registration fee is $20; registration includes an all-day ride pass to Kennywood, T-shirt and drawstring
bag. Your registration fee will help provide 25 clients with a pregnancy test.

How much does it cost for family members or friends who are coming to Kennywood, but are not raising
support?
You may purchase Kennywood tickets at check-in for $26.

Is my registration fee tax-deductible?
No, your registration fee is not considered tax-deductible, nor is it a donation to the PRC. However, any
amount that you choose to donate above the registration fee is tax-deductible and benefits the ministry.

What if I have a season pass to Kennywood?
You may use your pass, but a $10 registration fee is required. Contact Lisa Boyd at (412) 833-5309
regarding your registration. You will still need to check-in the day of the walk to receive your walk t-shirt
and PRC bag.

When do I get my tickets?
You will pick-up your tickets, walk t-shirt and PRC bag on the day of the walk. The check-in station is
located at Kennywood's main entrance. Look for the PRC banner!

What if I can’t attend the Walk for Life event?
If you are unable to attend the walk at Kennywood Park, continue to register as a walker, raise support
and walk at a location of your choosing.

How do I start fundraising?
The best fundraising efforts start by sharing your personal story about why you're participating in the
walk. You can share your story on your personal FundEasy fundraising page by logging in to your
participant center. Once your page is updated, share it with friends, family, and coworkers via email,
social networking, and word of mouth.

Does the PRC’s Walk for Life require fundraising?
You are not "required" to fundraise, but we do encourage all participants to get sponsors and help
fundraise in addition to the registration fee.
JUST IMAGINE the IMPACT - if every Walk for Life participant raises $1000, we will raise an additional
$250,000 dollars to empower, encourage, and educate young adults with the truth through our various
medical and support services.

Will there be some friendly competition between walkers?
Absolutely! Walkers and teams will be eligible for prizes.

How can I earn additional Kennywood tickets for family or friends at no additional cost?
o Walkers who raise over $250 in pledges* can bring up to 1 additional family or friend at no additional
cost. *Your pledges will help bring an IN THE KNOW presentation to a local middle school.
o
Walkers who raise over $500 in pledges* can bring up to 3 additional family members or friends at no
additional cost. *Your pledges will help provide about two clients with a pregnancy test and ultrasound.
o
Walkers who raise over $1,000 in pledges* can bring up to 5 additional family members or friends at no
additional cost. *Our statistics show that your pledges can help save the lives of four babies.

Do the additional tickets need to be used the day of the walk?
Additional tickets earned by reaching the above milestones, do not need to be used the day of the walk.

How long is the route?
The Walk for Life is an all ages, all abilities event lasting approximately 2 miles.

How much does it cost to park at Kennywood and where should I park?
o Free Parking – Enter Gate A - Free parking, slightly further away from the front entrance to the park.
o Preferred Parking – Enter Gate B - $7.00 per vehicle. Closest to the front entrance to the park.
o Accessible Parking – Enter Gate C - Accessible parking (with approved placard).
o Short Term Parking – Enter Gate C for short term parking, passenger drop off, and passenger pick up.

Can I bring my own food to the pavilion?
Yes, please do. You may keep your coolers in your car until after the walk or check-in early and take
them to pavilions 14 and 15 before the walk begins at 9:30 a.m. This is a fun day for your family, friends
or group. Raise money in support of LIFE, walk with the PRC to stand for LIFE, have lunch and ride all day
with your family.

What if it rains?
We will walk come rain or shine. If the weather looks like rain, please bring an umbrella or poncho. If
Kennywood decides to close the park due to weather, they will distribute rain check tickets that have
the same terms of use as the tickets you will get from the walk.

