One of my favorite quotes is from Wayne Gretzky, it goes along the lines of
“always skate to where the puck is going, not where it is”
With PRD we can show you where the puck (market) is going through our
crystal ball, our research.
Median house prices have now risen above $1m in both Sydney and
Melbourne and auction clearance rates are at all time highs. Our property
clock puts both markets at 11:15 and rising (12 o’clock is the peak, so not far
away for those markets). Property markets are cyclical and every other cycle
has seen the Whitsunday’s follow Sydney and Melbourne some 18 months
to 2 years later. Our property clock currently sits at 6:30 (6 being the bottom
of the market so thankfully we are through that). The amount of property
hitting the market (listings) is less than the amount selling which will push
our clock higher in terms of timing and the cycle.
Already we are seeing southerners understand their market is overheating,
they are selling and reinvesting in our market where the median price is
$525 000 (40%) of theirs, and having a considerable and healthy sum left
over. Simply following Wayne’s advice and following where the puck is
going.
