Configuring Connections for Trimble VRS NOW with Trimble Access
From the main menu of Access select Settings
Then select Connect
Now select the GNSS contacts tab
If you currently have a contact created that
you wish to change… select Edit. Otherwise
select the New option tab
Name the contact and select the
contact type. For networks using a
data source other than a UHF
radio you will select Internet rover.
Then select the arrow tab for
Network connection
In this example we are using a Wi-Fi
device purchased by a cellular provider
such as Verizon, T Mobile, AT&T US
Cellular etc., Select Wi-Fi ActiveSync
For Trimble VRS a NTRIP is required.
Make sure to Check the Use NTRIP box.
Do not check the RTX, NTRIP v1.0 or Use
proxy server. If you like, you can select
Connect directly to Mountpoint. This will
automatically connect to the network with
the corrections selected the first time
using the VRS. Note: if you use the same
controller with different receiver types you
may not want to check this.
Enter the user name and password
provided by Trimble VRS Now services
and then tab to page 3
The IP Address will be
www.vrsnow.us and the port will be
2101 Then select Enter and Store
We now need to edit our Survey
Styles for the new/edited GNSS
Contact. Select Survey Styles
Highlight and select Edit on VRS or
tap directly on VRS
First go to Rover options
Next select VRS (CMR) as your
Broadcast format and select Accept
Now select Rover data link
The Type will be Internet
connection and the we will
use the GNSS contact we
just created. VRS Now or
whatever you named yours.
Select Accept and Store
Open the General Survey tab in
Access and open or create your
job. Select Measure
Pick the VRS Survey Style
Select one of the options based
on the project in which you want
to perform.
The Mount Points will populate and
select the corresponding Mount
point according to your
subscription. If you selected
connect directly to mount point in
the GNSS contact created earlier it
will always use the one once
selected here.
You may need to scroll to the
right on the screen to see if the
mount point is GPS only or
GNSS. For assistance on which
one to chose consult with your
PMW representative.
