GUIDED TOURS ON THE
EUROVISION SONG
CONTEST
KUNSTHISTORISCHES MUSEUM GOES SONG CONTEST!
The ESC is coming to Vienna, and the Kunsthistorisches Museum is
offering guided tours inspired by some of the winning songs from the last
four decades. Enjoy a visit to the collection that focuses on love and pain,
angels and demons, a euphoric Europe and a bird on fire.
Mostly they’re about love, but sometimes these songs focus on other
important things: in 1990 Toto Cotugno sang about European community
spirit, in 2006 the winning song by Lodi from Finland was gloomy and
slightly sinister, and last year Conchita Wurst won with a manifesto of
glamorous self-assertion. We begin our tours through the
Kunsthistorisches Museum with music; ESC winning songs from the years
1966-2014 suggested the topics. This is a tongue-in-cheek walk through
the galleries that offers an unusual perspective on our rich collections.
