PRIME HEALTH ANNOUNCES GOAL TO MAKE COLORADO
THE TOP DIGITAL HEALTH STATE BY 2020
Partners with Aetna to convene 400+ innovators, investors and thought leaders
at 2015 Digital Health Summit
DENVER, CO (May 7, 2015) — Prime Health, a statewide non-profit representing Colorado's
digital health community, today announced its goal to be the top digital health state in the nation
by 2020 during the organization's 2015 Digital Health Summit in Denver, May 6 and 7.
Hundreds of regional and national digital health thought leaders, healthcare executives,
physicians, entrepreneurs, investors, technologists and academics will explore topics including
value-based healthcare, the future of the quantified self and health data innovation at the Summit.
The annual event was created to pair investors and strategic partners with Colorado's digital
health entrepreneurs. Since its inception in 2012, Prime Health has grown into a community of
close to 1,000 collaborators with grassroots chapters in Denver, Boulder, Centennial, Colorado
Springs and Fort Collins.
Nationally recognized digital health accelerators Rock Health and StartUp Health have identified
Colorado as the sixth largest digital health community in the U.S. based on institutional
investment. Prime Health is focused on enhancing Colorado's leadership position based on its
per capita metrics and market segment leadership.
“Colorado has more than 120 digital health companies and the number is growing,” said Jeffrey
Nathanson, CEO of Prime Health. “We are rapidly attracting other organizations from outside the
state who want to collaborate with us in shaping the future of care delivery. We believe this Digital
Health Summit serves as the springboard to tell our story and announce our mission to become
the Number 1 digital health ecosystem in the U.S."
“For the second year in a row, Aetna is proud to be the title sponsor of the Digital Health Summit,”
comments Marc Neely, Aetna Vice President of Sales and Service. “We share Governor
Hickenlooper’s goal of making Colorado the healthiest state in the nation, for individuals,
businesses and the economy. We are investing in digital technology to help improve the health of
Colorado and the digital space is a great fit for us to align our people and expertise with the
ground-breaking efforts of Prime Health.”
The 2015 Digital Health Summit opened on May 6 with a private “Investor Day” that pairs
investors and strategic partners with emerging Colorado-based digital health companies. This
event was followed by a “Health & Tech Mashup” public event, sponsored by Google and
presented in partnership with the Governor’s Office of State Planning and Budget. The Mashup
brought together healthcare executives and seasoned entrepreneurs from diverse industries to
brainstorm new solutions to critical problems facing healthcare.
