Bala Cynwyd, PA (April 8, 2015): On Sunday, May 3 from 11am to 3pm, at picturesque
Green Lane Park (2144 Snyder Rd Green Lane, PA 18054) in Montgomery County, 102.9
WMGK-FM morning man, John DeBella (weekdays 6a-9a) will host the 13th Annual DeBella
Dog Walk, the largest canine carnival in the area. Over 7,000 people attended last year’s
event, an even bigger turnout is expected this year.
The Dog Walk offers dog owners the ultimate ‘doggie date’ with their four legged best
friend. In addition to getting information from and making donations to the 20+ dog rescue
groups and shelters on-site, owners and their dogs will have the opportunity to view and
take part in various activities.
Attendees will be able to enjoy entertaining dog demonstrations including ‘fly ball’ dogs, and
a demonstration from the Abington Police K9 unit. Dogs can take part in interactive games
such as lure coursing, musical hoops (musical chairs for dogs) and doggie tic tac toe. Photo
opportunities abound as owners can take their pooch’s photo inside the “Dogs Playing
Poker” painting and the Beatles 'Abbey Road' album cover (Geroge Harrison will be holding
a dog leash). Both dogs and owners can win prizes in the ‘longest kiss between owner and
dog contest’ as well as the ‘Simon Says’ contest. There will be two caricature artists on-site
to draw pictures of the two legged and four legged. One dog will be crowned 'Mayor of
Dogville' as a result of an online photo submission contest that John DeBella will be
conducting at wmgk.com. In addition, there will be plenty of information available on dog
health, including the ask the ‘Ask a Trainer’ and ‘Ask a Vet’ booths. There will also be three
food vendors on-site.
Green Lane Park boasts ample parking within short walking distance of this year’s events,
acres of land to accommodate this year’s activities and prior experience in hosting dog
events. More information on the event can be found at the station’s website, wmgk.com,
