As a valued business partner of Universal American (UAM), we are providing you with updated
Compliance contact information for UAM. After several years of outstanding service to Universal
American (UAM), our SVP, Regulatory Counsel and Medicare Compliance Officer, Tyrina Blomer,
has left to pursue a new opportunity.
In light of Ms. Blomer’s departure, Celeste Panaro-Smith has rejoined UAM as our Medicare
Compliance Officer on April 6, 2015. Celeste first joined UAM in March 2011 as Vice President of
Medicare Advantage Compliance. In 2013, she took over the leadership of the Appeals and
Grievance function that resulted in a successful CMS audit in 2014. Celeste brings a wealth of
experience in Medicare Compliance and Project Management to this role including leadership roles
at Coventry Health Care, Inc., Veridign Health Solutions, and Independence Blue Cross.
She will be
based in Houston and reporting to her are Johnathan Randle, Mariko Hoffman and Kristin
