Quote “One of our Government’s objectives is to inspire Canadians to develop stronger and more meaningful connections with Canada’s national treasures. By investing in the Dominion Exhibition Display Building No. II we are paying tribute to its significance to the City of Brandon and to Western Manitoba. Our rich agricultural background not only defines us for who we are but is at the heart of our culture and future economic prosperity. Brandon is not known as the Wheat City for nothing and the Brandon Wheat Kings don’t proudly wear the golden sheaves of wheat as a fashion statement. We are the Wheat City because it is our agricultural based economy that made us who we are today. And it is due to our sense of community, our volunteers, and donors that have restored and given new purpose and life to the Dome Building.” Larry Maguire, Member of Parliament for Brandon-Souris Associated Link www.parkscanada.gc.ca - 30 Contacts Jonathan Lefebvre Office of the Minister of the Environment 819-997-1441 Media Relations Parks Canada 1-855-862-1812 www.twitter.com/parkscanada
