The "King" Nine was designed by Arnold Palmer and opened in 1988. Palmer also redesigned the Squire and Hawk nines at Starfire Golf Club, making them more challenging with bunkers and water hazards coming into play on 13 holes. Stonecreek GC, 4435 E. Paradise Village Parkway South, Phoenix, AZ 85032 (602) 953-9111 Men Black Tees, 5937 yards, rating/slope 68.1/125 Women Silver Tees 5018 yards, rating/slope 69.0/122 Stonecreek GC is located at our host hotel, the Embassy Suites. If your idea of a pleasurable 18 holes is to be able to bang your driver as often as possible, Stonecreek isn't for you. You have to think your way around this golf course. Chances are you'll leave your driver in the bag on several of the par 4s, not wanting to hit the ball so far that it finds Stone Creek, which meanders through 13 holes. But golfers who like to shape shots and decipher the best way to hit approaches into elevated greens surrounded by water and sand might prefer Stonecreek to even some of the more celebrated golf courses in Arizona. McCormick Ranch GC, 7505 E. McCormick Parkway, Scottsdale, Arizona 85258 We will be playing the Pine Course. Men Brown Tees, 5993 yards, rating/slope 68.2/125 Women Red Tees 5333 yards, rating/slope 69.9/117 The Pine Course is characterized by narrow tree-lined fairways with mature pines in abundance. The green complexes are a bit less raised and more accessible than those on the Palm Course, making the Pine a little more playable for the average golfer. There are 50 soft sand bunkers located near the landing zones on the manicured fairways, or situated on either side of the greens. Five holes have water in play, with forced carries to the green complexes on numbers six and fifteen. (480) 948-0260 Silverado Golf Club, 7605 East Indian Bend, Scottsdale,AZ 85250 (480) 778-0100 Men White Tees, 5734 yards, rating/slope 65.3/106 Women Red Tees 5229 yards, rating/slope 66.1/107 Silverado Golf Course in Scottsdale is a championship course that is as scenic as it is challenging. The layout features elevated tees that offer stunning views of the surrounding Camelback and Mummy Mountains. Narrow fairways and strategically placed bunkers keep golfers on their toes, ensuring that the scenic views are not too distracting. Water hazards also come into play on a few holes to make Silverado Golf Course even more interesting. TOURNAMENT FORMAT: Monday, Tuesday and Thursday will be Medal Play, full handicap and flighted by handicaps. WEDNESDAY will be optional Team Play. Team Play format is teams of 4 golfers, using two better balls for scoring. If your group has less than 4 players, the team will be filled with a blind draw.
