(QAC Vision Statement)

QUEEN OF APOSTLES COMMUNITY (QAC)
From a Marianist Community of student brothers open to visitors for Sunday Eucharist,
Queen of Apostles Community emerged as a non-territorial parish on August 28, 1973.
Continuing in the tradition of the Marianist Charism, we come together each week as a
family of Catholic, Christian believers, to worship our God in the Eucharist with song &
praise and to share in the breaking of the Bread. In so doing, we proclaim our willingness
to build a community of love and to be the holy people God calls us to be.
If you are visiting and worshipping with us for the first time, we extend to you our warmest
welcome. Our prayer is that your worship experience will be uplifting and Spirit filled.
We hope you will visit us often and worship with us!
(If you’d like more information about us or would like to join our Community,
please fill out the form on the back cover and drop it in the collection basket!)
NOTE: If the form on the back is missing, email [email protected] with your
name, phone number, address and we’ll contact you about joining us.
Marianist Doxology
May the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit be glorified in all places through the
Immaculate Virgin Mary.

STEWARDSHIP & GIVING
Palm Sunday: “Pilate again said to them, ‘Then what shall I do with the man whom you call the
King of the Jews?’ And they cried out again, ‘Crucify him.’” (Mark 15:12-13). Jesus told us
“whatever you do for the least of my brothers, you do for me.” Every day we are presented
opportunities to help someone. Every day we have the opportunity to see the face of Jesus in
others and be the face of Jesus to others. Pray for the courage to stand up for those in need of
our help.

Isaiah 50:4-7: As Christians, we see Jesus in the role of the suffering
servant, especially when we hear the record of his suffering at the hands of his persecutors. The
voice also belongs to the God of heaven and earth, now revealed to be a God of compassion,
intimately involved in creation. It is also the voice of those who have spoken on God’s behalf
throughout history. There are perhaps no stronger words than these for describing those faithful
servants who are able to “set their faces like flint” toward the difficulties they must encounter to
be true to God.
Philippians 2:6-11: When we proclaim that “Jesus is Lord to the glory of God the Father,” we
are accepting the apparent contradiction of Christian life. Since Jesus is the perfect acceptance
of the paradox, “every knee must bend” to acknowledge and imitate that perfection.
Mark 14:1-15:47: The most striking thing of Mark’s account of the passion is its severity and
bleakness. It clearly intends to show Jesus to us as the suffering servant so poignantly portrayed
and cruelly mistreated in the prophecy of Isaiah. The suffering Jesus in Mark is always and
dramatically alone, with no one to comfort him. And his struggle is seen as involving the entire
universe—a battle between the forces of good and evil, between darkness and light.

PRAYER OF BELIEF – John Shea
We believe that where people are gathered together in love
God is present and good things happen and life is full.
We believe that we are immersed in mystery, that our lives are more than they seem
that we belong to each other
and to a universe of great creative energies whose source and destiny is God……
We believe that God is after us,
that God is calling to us from the depth of human life.
We believe that God has risked Self and became man in Jesus…
In and with Jesus we believe that each of us is situated in the love of God
and the patterns of our life will be the pattern of Jesus - through death to Resurrection.
We believe that the Spirit of Peace is present with us, the Church,
as we gather to celebrate our common existence
the resurrection of Jesus, and the fidelity of God.
And most deeply we believe that in our struggle to love, we incarnate God in the world.
And so aware of mystery and wonder, caught in friendship and laughter,
we become speechless before the joy in our hearts and celebrate the sacredness of life
in the Eucharist. Amen.
PROCESSION WITH PALMS: We start in the vestibule with the gospel and the Blessing of
Palms. After the palms are blessed and we proceed into the sanctuary, we would like everyone to
process down the main aisle all the way to the altar before going to your places. Help us
make this a REAL Palm Sunday procession!
"This week proceeds into the mystery of Jesus' death and his resurrection.…So it'll do us
well to ask ourselves some questions: Who am I? Who am I before my Lord? Where is my
heart?…May these questions remain with us throughout the entire week." - Pope Francis
