PUBLIC SPEAKING AT THE LEGION
We are proud to announce that two of our students won their
division at this year’s Legion Public Speaking competition in
Renfrew, Sunday, February 9th. Lily placed first in the
Primary Division, Olivia placed first in the Junior
Division. Congratulations girls!! We're so proud of you!!
Our Q.E.P.S FREE THE CHILDREN GROUP is happy to
announce they have raised over $2,700 in support of Free
the Children, selling Rafikis! Thanks for your support!

MINDSETS IN THE CLASSROOM...
More and more studies are surfacing that emphasize the importance of teaching students about their
own brains. Increase of motivation, willingness to accept new challenges and healthier reaction to
failure are only a few of the benefits a child will experience when he or she understands how his or
her brain works.
Whenever possible, take opportunities to discuss the value of failure with your child. People (past
and present) who exemplify a growth mindset: Walt Disney, Michael Jordan, Oprah Winfrey,
Beethoven, Babe Ruth , J.K. Rowling, Albert Einstein (Mindsets in the Classroom, M.C. Ricci)
