QMEA MUSIC FESTIVAL - May 8, 9and 10, 2015 Students 28 and under are invited to register for the following categories: Piano, strings, winds, voice, and small ensembles Discover the CANADIAN MUSIC category. Participants in this class will perform music by Canadian composers. All instrumentalists and singers are welcomed! Adjudicators for each category will listen to and evaluate performances, give rankings, and help to decide upon the distribution of certificates, gifts, and bursaries. REGISTRATION FEES 12 years and under 12 years and under 13 and over 13 and over $ 35 each additional entry $ 17 $ 45 each additional entry $ 22 Small Ensembles are required to pay the initial fee as per the age of the eldest participant plus $10 for each additional ensemble member. Please list the names, ages and instrument of all members of the ensemble on a separate sheet. Category Junior Senior Age 14 years and under 15 years and over Maximum Program Length 5 minutes 10 minutes RULES 1. All pieces performed by solo participants must be played from memory. 2. Candidates may register to play one or several pieces as long as the performance does not exceed the maximum allowed time. Any performance exceeding the allowed time will be interrupted. 3. The candidate must give a copy of each musical selection to the adjudicator. Photocopies will be refused unless permission is granted. 4. If the number of participants in an age category is judged to be insufficient, multiple age categories will be put together in one category. 5. No accompanists are provided by the Festival. 6. Registration fees are non-refundable. 7. The winners and the repertoire for the Gala Concert will be selected by the adjudicators, as well as by the members of the QMEA Executive Committee. 8. Winners must be present at the Gala Concert to receive their prize. 9. No changes to the program will be accepted after April 29th, 2015.
